Yes yes I know I'm supposed to be off TI... but whatever. :P I thought this would be a cool thread.
So yeah! I love seeing what people are reading cuz I'm so voyeuristi--- I mean, cuz I'm inquisitive? :P lol Anyway so post what you're reading nowadays! (And opinions if you care to XD)
A Quiet Revolution: The Veil's Resurgence from the Middle East to America by Leila Ahmed
This is NOT a Writing Manual: Notes for the Young Writer in the Real World by Kerri Majors
^ Is it good?
Currently reading.......wait for it.......Forsaken, Origin, The Sweetest Spell, and XVI, as well as.....he chose the nails, the reason for god, screw tape letters, intellectuals don't need god and other modern myths, reasonable faith, and many more......,,,,,, O__O
The Writings of Saint Francis
The knowledge of the Holy by A.W. Tozer
The Path of Daggers by Robert Jordan (for the 2nd time) :D
Oh . . . and Islam Between East and West. Kind of. :p
Hahahaha. Oh, Jade. We have the same problem it looks like. :)
You should see the stack of books I have on my waiting list :P can't see mah floor O:
- Messages to Young People by Ellen White
- The Book of Awesome by Neil something-or-rather (too lazy to look it up :P)
Oh, and I guess you could count:
- The Bible by God
- Patriarchs and Prophets by Ellen White
...but those I am chipping away at slowly and in compliment of each other in my personal studies. As I'm reading through the Bible I plan on reading through all of Ellen White's series The Conflict of the Ages because it pretty much goes through the whole Bible (almost like a commentary).
Yeah, I have a lot to read, too. :P
God bless. ♥
Awesome! Okay, I'm not currently reading any good ones (though, like half.note, I'm working through the Bible). I've already finished a few though, and I'm waiting on more to come out. Here's that list: The Michael Vey series, The Alex Rider series, The Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys series (my library doesn't have them yet), Hero (the sequel of which isn't going to be out anytime soon), and the Galagher Girls series! I, like many others, have a lot on my 'To Read' list. :)
Good God, Jade. Usually I read 4 books at once but wow... you've outdone anyone I've met. lol XD
The better question is, What are you not reading?
I have a short attention span, guys, okay? :P
The Last Wish by Andrzej Sapkowski.
This is a collection of short stories on Geralt the Witcher. The Witcher games are based on Sapkowski's novels. Only 2 have been translated into English so far.
"Modern Physics" (Yes its a textbook)
"The Iliad" (for school)
And I'm trying to finish "The Eye of the World" but I have no time...
Jubilex: I just got the first witcher game cheap off of steam. I had just started the second one, but now I'm going to go back and play the first one before finishing the second. Are the books good?
I saw 15 minutes of the start of the first Witcher game and the combat really put me off. I really like the second game though. There's a great balancing mod for it (made by one of the lead devs). I haven't tried it yet, but I've read through the changes and there's a whole lot of fixes for areas of combat that were very broken.
What I have read of this book is great. It's dark, like the games. It's odd reading a translated novel because I'll never know how different it is to the original. The writing doesn't have as much flow as some authors, but I find it works for the storyline.
Things I'm currently reading:
This thread. :p
(Okay, discussing and analyzing) The Kite Runner (for school),
and a book about terro.rism. It's not about it, really, but more its effects, after 9/11 and such. It's written by a former-NYT columnist, and although a bit dense, really interesting. Plus it's helping me brush up on politics and a-decade-later current events. I'll post the title once I get home.
I am currently reading Cold Sassy Tree by Olive Ann Burns.
