Collin: "Play League with me!!!"

Sorry. Classes have started up again and I haven't had a chance to play for a few days. I only have 2 classes tomorrow though, so I'll probably get on tonight and maybe tomorrow sometime.

"Also, religion is about more than the "feel good." I don't think you meant that in a demeaning way, but it's not a very accurate description."

Yeah - you're right. Sorry. It was kind of a petty comment. Sorry to Destinee as well.

Flo:

LOL. Aww, that's pitiful. :) If it's any consolation, I once got killed 4 times trying to climb the same ladder over and over on COD. Kept fallin off.

Quantum:

I feel your pain, bro. Had my first day of dual-enrollment classes today and I can tell it's gonna be a long semester. So I prob. won't be on except for weekends in a bit, once the assigned reading starts pickin up. I'll send ya an invite if we ever happen to have a spare second at the same time.

And nah, don't worry about it. Apology gladly accepted. ;)

XD I'm really not good at those types of games lol. I finally did manage to get to the top of my friend's spawn tower thingy though =w= Just kinda took a while. She finally put in some more torches so you could SEE.

This is totally why I play pokemon guys. You can walk in four directions, eight in X and Y (omg gais, they broke the laws of pokemon), and plus there's no climbing and stuff e.e;

"Apologize for insulting something that means a lot to stuntdude, whether or not you really meant it. "

You're right. I apologise SDD

As for the rest of it, Jade asked to take it elsewhere, and I don't care enough to go out of my way to explain it.

Although.. "Plus, what's wrong with feel good quotes. Isn't that kind of the point?"

Since this doesn't have to be nasty :) I think feel good quotes are okay "once in a while", like I said. But I think the very fact that so many quotes are simply superficial and more comforting than substantial can prevent people from thinking further about a problem, thinking that some silly slogan or motto has solved their crises. Some of the Islamic conventions I've been to were more like feel-good sessions, and speakers who had substance in their speeches were considered "boring". Inspiration is good, but it can and should be criticised. Someone can insult something that makes me feel good, and I won't take offence to that if it's a good criticism. Other people claim that it's not harming anyone and making someone feel better so who cares.

Thread:

One of my favourite quotes: "May the bridges I burn light the way". (More of a prayer, I suppose.)

Another one: "Strive to excel in virtue and truth always." ~ Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)

I feel the same way in church sometimes.

You burn bridges to light the way... how does that even work, the bridge I'm assuming you're trying to cross is on fire o^o

"A word to the wise ain't necessary - it's the stupid ones that need the advice.
Bill Cosby"

"Go to Heaven for the climate, He.ll for the company.
Mark Twain"

"Wine is constant proof that God loves us and loves to see us happy.
Benjamin Franklin "

"Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please.
Mark Twain "

And one that's just kinda stupid-funny:

"My fake plants died because I did not pretend to water them.
Mitch Hedberg "

No, you're burning the bridges to other paths. For instance:

1. Leave Christianity
2. Have burned the bridge to the Saviour
3. May it light your way on your other paths

Make sense?

Somewhat of a pyro XD But its meaning is a bit deeper than that, I think. :) When you burn a bridge, you feel pain, you feel sadness, you feel loss, nostalgia, regret. You hope that it was worth it. You don't want to have left a secure, safe haven, burned any path you had to it, all your connections and all your relationships, and then find yourself lost with no direction. :)

For some reason, I just need a little LOVE in this thread :P

So taste the love, feel the love, embrace the love.

“I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.”

― Marilyn Monroe

“You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.”

― Dr. Seuss

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.”

― Martin Luther King Jr.

“It is not a lack of love, but a lack of friendship that makes unhappy marriages.”

― Friedrich Nietzsche

“The opposite of love is not hate, it's indifference. The opposite of art is not ugliness, it's indifference. The opposite of faith is not heresy, it's indifference. And the opposite of life is not death, it's indifference.”

― Elie Wiesel

“Have you ever been in love? Horrible isn't it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up.”

― Neil Gaiman, The Sandman, Vol. 9: The Kindly Ones

“To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket, safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. To love is to be vulnerable.”
― C.S. Lewis, The Four Loves

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”
― Anonymous, Holy Bible: New International Version

“When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants and murderers, and for a time, they can seem invincible, but in the end, they always fall. Think of it--always.”
― Mahatma Gandhi

“I am not sure exactly what heaven will be like, but I know that when we die and it comes time for God to judge us, he will not ask, 'How many good things have you done in your life?' rather he will ask, 'How much love did you put into what you did?”

― Mother Teresa

“A woman's heart should be so hidden in God that a man has to seek Him just to find her.”

― Max Lucado

I should be about done now >.> lol
