I'm a cat person meself. I see the appeal in Golden Retrievers, but those dogs who are soo thin and their tummies stick in - I mean, how can you love them? They're not even cute! And chihuhaahhahahahhas are just blegh. Kitties are cuter.

(This thread is created for SDD and Quantum, as it has nothing to do with religion. :) )

(PS: We can also discuss Pepsi vs Co.ke. Even though everyone knows C.oke is better.)

Cheers.

XD

I'm a horse person....

But seriously, if I had to choose it would be dogs (although I do really like cats, too).
Dogs are so much more loyal and loving. But on the other hand cats can be a lot more snuggly (even though they probably only want your body heat XD).
I have one cat and one dog and they are both the greatest. :D
I just wish I had a horse, too. :(

As for Pepsi vs. Coke, I don't like either. In fact, I don't really like pop at all. I used to drink rootbeer and Sprite a lot, but then me and my sister entered into our personal "great health reform" (we gave up dairy and sweets--we were already vegetarian) and I stopped drinking pop. I'm a juice girl now. :)

God bless. ♥

I wouldn't say either are more loving, but I definitely prefer cats. This is probably gonna sound really wierdly pretentious, but to be totally honest, I think it's largely the attitude. Dogs are just a little too obedient, and it falls right into an uncanny valley for me. Cats' personalities just seem so much more... real, like, they have emotions and they act very, very much like humans. Dogs just seem so shallow in comparison. They act like they live just to serve humans, which is not something I want in a pet. Cats, on the other hand, have their own interests and their own agendas (or complete lack thereof) and that makes for real social interaction. With cats, I feel like I may as well be friends with a mute and slightly eccentric human, and with dogs I don't get the same vibe. It feels very artificial.

As for c.oke (is that really filtered? o.0) vs. pepsi, OH COME ON, that's ridiculous. People are really fighting about this? No, the real rivalry is sprite vs. 7up vs. sierra mist.

Other people's dogs are fine, but I'm definitely a cat person. For several reasons:

1. They clean themselves (and bury their own waste).
2. They're (to quote half.note) more snuggly.
3. They're generally self-sufficient.

Essentially you get the good parts of being a pet owner - having a nive animal around to pet without the bad - cleaning up after them.

As for c.oke and pepsi, I don't drink soda so I don't care.

I might add that cats are low-maintenance not only in terms of hygiene and such, but also in terms of attention. Cats tend to have flexible scheduling (or a complete lack thereof) and attention needs than dogs, I find. They're perfectly happy to spend the day napping around or being petted/held a lot and (usually) won't make a fuss about it being one or the other. They're very laid back pets.

Have you ever emptied a litter box? XD

And I think it all depends on which dog and which cat.
For example, my dog now never curls up in my lap and sleeps. But my old dog always used to sleep right on my chest.
My cat now is soooo snuggly, he absoutely loves people and always tries to climb on you. But my old cat would be gone for days, come back for food, sleep on you for a little bit, and then disappear again.
I think every animal (cat or dog) has its own personality and you can't really generalize it.

Also, I don't know if this will work (you may need Facebook), but....
here's some pics of my cat:

We don't use a litter box. Our cats go outside whenever they want, so they take care of their business out there.

I like soda, but I don't like cola. Sprite rules. A&W or Barq's?

Speaking of cats, my family is basically adopting another stray, be not just any stray. He's clearly a former house cat, he's already fully litter trained, people trained, etc. only thing he's not so good at is table manners :P We've dubbed him "Puffers" (more affectionately "puffdaddy") after the wideness and fluffiness of his face. In fact, the way his face is, it almost looks like he has a moustache!

He's SOOO sweet though, and he's got to be one of the chillest, most laid-back and relaxed cats I've ever met. He'll sometims flop down on his side and stretch way out, which is his way of inviting a belly rub. A cat who enjoys belly rubs! That's news to me. He'll let you pet him just about any way and won't get upset.

My dad has remarked a couple times about Puffers being eager to be petted but not to sit on people's laps or be held, but I have to disagree. I think he just needed to get used to the house and come to trust us a bit more, because now he seems to love it. He's sitting on my lap right now, as I'm typing this :D

Anyways, so the moral of the story is I'm gettin' a new cat and he's awesome.

As for you, Imagine, seriously? Is it even a competition? Everyone knows A&W wins hands down.

I like both. I agree that cats are easier to take care of, but I still really like the energy that you get with dogs.

No one can make me choose!

It is a shame that I won't be able to own cats once I move out of home. My boyfriend is quite allergic. He's allergic to dogs too, but it doesn't affect him the same if they stay outside.

I don't know what A&W or Barq's is :( Google tells me root beer. I think we have A&W around the place here. I recognise the logo, but I think it's only sold in very select places.

And Coke is definitely 100% better. Though my business teacher tells me Pepsi is a more respectable company?

Interesting thing about the Coke vs Pepsi debate. There was a taste test that I read about once. I don't remember where it was done, or how many people did it, or who did the test even. Anyway, the results showed that when blind taste-testing was done, people preferred Pepsi, but when the brands were showed people preferred Coke. An interesting result showing how brands matter to people.

^ What he said is completely true. Pepsi actually did taste better, but i still said coke won, the only reason being cuz it's coke.
