Update: I now know ten seconds of the song!
Ah shuddup, I've got the intro down so really now all there's left is the melody with the harmonizing accompaniement whateverness. I'm just gonna figure out the melody on my flute and then transcribe them to piano though, cuz ive already learned a lot of songs on my flute and it's just easier for me that way.
Omg I'm like crying right now, help meeeeee
Des hated The Kite Runner right? Where is she? I need her to tell me why she hates the book so much so i can hate it and stop cryinggggg T.T Help meeeeeeeeeee
^ LOL, wut? XD
And whatever happened to Doctorbug?
Usually we always spend the weekend spamming together... Especially at night... :(
IF YOU ARE READING THIS DOCTORBUG, PLEASE COME BACK TO ME!!!!!
I read the first eight chapters of Kite runner and almost started crying ;^; Still feel like im going to, so i want Des to make me hate the book so i stop feeling all bad and stuff >.<
Haha, okay.... XD
And nice new screen name, by the way. :)
But isn't it spelt "Potato"?
Unless you're a mix between a potato and a toe... ;)
lol it is, i just like putting the e at the end XD
Fair enough. :)
Anyways, I'm off to bed.
Good night! ♥
XD Night dude ^^
Flo, I hate it cuz it's emotionally manipulative.
I would've liked a book purely about redemption, but it wasn't: it's emotionally manipulative and feeds off of the fad of insulting Eastern countries to stroke people's egos.
Also the writing sucks.
it does, so much XD But it's weird, id read it and get super bored during the chapter... and then right at the end it just decides "hey no, you're not done yet" and somehow in a weird way pulls you in again e.e; Also, I DUN LIKE IT MANIPULATING MEH EMOTIONS! E.E i kinda hate the main character too. He's a butt. But i still feel like crying.
I have really weird taste in literature, apparently. I'm the only person I know who doesn't like The Book Thief (I thought it had redeeming traits but on the whole was kinda terrible), I never really got what was the big deal with Ender's Game, etc. But then again I guess I have really weird taste in everything, so that's no surprise.
BTW don't ever mention The Watsons Go to Birmingham in my presence. I hate that book. I hate it with a passion. It is by far the worst book I have ever read. Horrible.
i dont really think i hate any books o^o Except Great Ex but that's only cuz it was too long e.e;
Des doesn't like the Book Thief either, but I loved that one.
HATED Ender's Game though. I thought I was the only one that did! :)
I HATE THE BOOK THIEF!!! Not as bad as The Kite Runner, but overrated and total s.hit.
I'm surprised you remembered, Imagine :D Surprised and flattered.
I watched The Bachelor yesterday for the first time. I have no words.... :/
XD see i have nothing to contribute, cuz i havent read anything in forever.
Speaking of reading, just finished The Golden Compass. So much happened, explicit and implied, in the end of that book... MAN, Philip Pullman lays it on thick. Anyways, I might write something proper about it soon. Until then, suffice to say I loved it.
ALSO, on Unusual Taste with Stuntddude: I couldn't stand Eragon. Bad writing, most cliched and unoriginal plot ever, incredibly lazy research.
As for Eragon:
True. It did get better over the course of the series though. However, it did stop me from rereading them when I already knew what was going to happen.
I disagree. Sure it borrowed heavily from other books in the genre, but so do they all. I actually found his plot fairly fresh - in particular his portrayal of different cultures.
All in all, I thought it was a pretty decent series - nothing spectacular, but worth my time.
Are you kidding me? Interesting portrayal of difference cultures? Sorry, but just... when!? You have the elves copied straight from stereotype and cliche, the orcs copied straight from stereotype and cliche, you have the dwarves copied straight from stereotype and cliche, the men copied straight from stereotype and cliche... at no point, in that entire story, was a single element ever introduced that I hadn't read verbatim in some other book.
Eragon and Eldest both sucked.
SDD and I both have excellent taste in books, clearly.
Also, I'd forgotten how much fun this forum is when I don't feel stressed about debating with people :D
