Quantum: I used to be really addicted to this place..especially when I first started out. This year I haven't really been that interested in the forum. I mean I come around because it's enjoyable to talk to people and everyonce in awhile engage in a philosophical conversation, but other than that this is my procastination from school. Like, the people I made the strongest connections with don't even come around much anymore, so it just doesn't have the same feel, so not really as exciting to me anymore. We'll see.
Donna: I understand you not wanting to say where..but no one knows your name or anything about you so the likelyhood of someone actually being able to find you based on saying where you're going is slim to none. I'm going to do online through Bismarck State college and get an AAS in Power Plant Technology:) What's your major?
You're right, PB, I guess I'm just a little overly-paranoid. I'm going to Wartburg college, and I'm not actually sure about a major yet. I think I'm going to do something like journalism, but I have yet to declare a major for sure. What do you do in Power Plant Tech?
Okay like I know everyone's older than me, but when you go about talking about college and stuff it gets really obvious :/ Gah.
hi yisleifbeinstoopid, how's it going? How old are you, anyways? Also, can I just call you yisleif instead? Your username is long...
Just call her Flo. She changes her screen name often, but we all know her as Flo.
And I may have mentioned it in the Facebook group chat, but now that we're all talking about colleges, I wanted to announce that I got accepted into the University of Alberta. :D
It's one of the top 5 schools in Canada, very difficult to get into, and only about a half hour commute from where I live. They also offered me a $1000 scholarship for having above 90% average through all of high school. So that was pretty cool.
Also, PB, you really should get Facebook and join our TI group chat. It's a good way to keep up with the oldies who don't really come on the forum anymore (and you get an occasional philosophical debate as a bonus).
God bless. ♥
Donna: sounds awesome!!
Power Plant Technology is basically a degree for being a power plant operator, so I'll be sending electricity to the grid(the grid is where elctricity is stored), or distributing it from other plants to the city.
Half.note: Oh man!! That's awesome!! Is that like equal to a Ivy League school in the US(example, Harvard).
Alright, I'm not actually supposed to have a facebook..but I'll create a fake account so I can join y'all:) Too tired to do it tonight, I'll join in a few days or so.
I lied, I made it lol I added you and Quantum since y'all are the only ones I know the names of, guess I'll join the group after one of y'all add me.
"Is that like equal to a Ivy League school in the US(example, Harvard)."
I'm not really sure... I guess since it's so difficult to get into then maybe...
I don't really think Canada has any true equivalents to Ivy League schools, though.
And I'm very glad you finally joined Facebook, PB! :D
"I don't really think Canada has any true equivalents to Ivy League schools, though."
We kinda do. UoT and McGill are the big ones that are like top tier in Canada, but they're not as high up as say Harvard or Stanford. Closer to like second tier schools in the states, kinda like Vanderbilt and Emory level. Either way they're good schools, idk if Alberta's part of it or not cuz i don't really know much about the stuff all to the west lol.
We have 8 "prestigious" universities in Australia (I go to one of them), but we don't have anything like the Ivy League system either.
I wasn't even aware we had prestigious universities until I was a few years into my degree.
