Destinee? Is Antartica considered a country and a continent, or just a continent. Because that right now seems to be the only CONTINENT, not in a time of war. Unless the penguins are at war with the seals or walruses.

Puella: What do you mean by the statement: there have only been two states in the whole wide world that were the best, and America is one of them?

Your opinion is not only incorrect but also lacks historical proff. I think I might point out that the State Government founded by the Prophet of Islam and projected later by the Caliph Umar (Mention of these two is made in Michael Hart's "The Hundred", a book that lacks historical insight, but nevertheless does justice to historical positions) covered an area much larger than the two American continents combined form. The state was democratic to the extent that people could even ask the caliph (the title of the head) why was he wearing a robe made up of two twon sheets of cloth when the general allowance was one sheet per person.
I will not give any more examples. You can study the intricacies of the governmental setup in a book "Al-Faruq, The Life of Umar the Great by Shibli Nu'mani (translated by Zafar Ali Khan)". I will, however, tell you that the book is  a historical one, and therefore it must be studies only if one is in for a little bit of serious study.

The best state currently in the world is Antartica. With no official government or society, it is basically infallible. Hence the best. For every state/ country with a government cannot be infallible so therefore it is not the best.

(That was a joke before anyone takes it seriously.......)

Arch, is Malaysia at war? I don't think they are. :D And Anatarctica is a continent I think. Countries have to have some form of governance. MAYBE. :P I'm just guessing.

Dynamo, technically Prophet Muhammad (p) and his successors didn't establish a nation-state. Nor did the Romans. Nation-states are very recent phenomona.

Antarctica would be a great place to live if it wasn't for the climate. :) (I loved half.note's picture.)

^ Ahhhh, thank you, Imagine. I was beginning to wonder if anyone had even seen my post...

Antartica would be cool to live in... and since I'm Canadian the climate wouldn't bother me. XD

Destinee: Technically yes, but considering the terms in recent usage, I guess it would've sufficed.

The government founded by the Prophet, has been summarized most aptly by a professor writing on Iqbal: "It was not autocratic, democratic, plutocractic, monarchic or diplomatic  It inculcated the good aspects of all these in a collective amalgam, while at the same time shunning every aspect of them that was unreasonable."

Destinee:

"If I'd picked a European country, I would be able to say that they weren't founded on killing Aboriginals"

Depends which. (Hint: don't choose an imperialist nation like the UK :P)

"Consider that a Democrat and a Republican basically ends up behaving the same way in office, the fact that America is a republic isn't really all that significant."

Wait, did you just confuse a republican government with the Republican political party? Is it time to facepalm or did I just misread your post?

I know the most populated areas are near the U.S. border, closer to the 50th parallel than the 90th :P
