What Happens When you Die?

It's that one thing that confuses the hay outta me.

So say you die. Then what? Do you get magically transported to some place? Or does your soul like, come out of your body and float somewhere?

And does heaven and he.ll exist in your opinion? If so, what makes heaven so good? What makes he.ll so bad?

THIS IS MY OPINION BASED OFF OF WHAT I THINK THE BIBLE SAYS!XD

Ok, when you die you go in the ground and you stay there until judgement day, when Yahshua(J-sus) comes down from heaven and judges us according to our obedience and love for Him. after he judges whether you go to the New Jerusalem(basically Heaven on earth) or to he.ll, then if you go to the New Jersualem and you are given a new body, if you go to he.ll i believe that you keep your body,(and if you disenegrated then you get your old body back...speculation:).

What makes the New Jersualem so Good? eternal life with G-d.

What makes he.ll so bad?
eternal seperation from G-d.

Shalom Alechiem and Barucha!-PB;)

Once you die, you are magically transported to a metal box, which is then placed six feet under. Or you are shrunk down to smaller remains and placed in a smaller box next to other smaller boxes, or you are spread out over a certain area. lol

I am a Christian and I do believe in Heaven and Hell, but as I have never died, I can not fathom where one goes when they die.

I don't know what makes Heaven so good, however He.ll to me is not fire and brimstone, but Earth just without the presence of God.

From what i believe, the New Earth (or New Jerusalem) will be on this Earth, yes.

This is actually a pretty broad topic. So i've found a website that's full of pure scripture, no arguments, just straight-from-the-bible descriptions of what our new bodies will be like.
ht tp://www.cro ssroad.to/h eaven/cont ents/new_bodie s.htm

There's only one Judgment Day. So whatever happens to our bodies until then, I don't know, but scripture is clear all will be judged together. However, when Jesus is on the cross he tells the criminal who repented, on another cross, "today you'll be with me in paradise." So I don't think you necessarily lay dormant in the ground.

What makes heaven good? There's no suffering, and although it might not seem like much to you now, being in the presence of the Almighty God. It seems easy, on Earth, to say, so what? about that. But God is powerful, and Loving, and the Bible says all will bow down to Him, that's how much authority He has. God isn't just a small issue.

He.ll is "bad" because it's an eternity of suffering. Separation from God (all that is loving and good) is torture in and of itself.

Jade: Huh, interesting. They sure use the word glory a lot o.O

So lemme try to get this straight. You die, and then you get a new glorified body or something? And then when Judgement day comes, you either go to heaven or he.ll. So you get a totally awesome body whether you go to heaven or he.ll, is that right? Cuz then with such a powerful and glorious body, you'd still be untouchable in he,ll, wouldn't you be?

That's the thing that gets me; there's no suffering. So does that mean being in heaven is like being on weed 24/7 or something? Or any sort of dr.ug? That'd be kinda weird.

As for the torture in he.ll, if you're separated from everything good, then nothing is good. Good is a totally relative term. A 5 sq. ft. falling-apart-at-the-seams apartment is bad compared to a house, but it's good compared to a cardboard box. So like, if you go to he.ll, and you're surrounded by everything "bad", then there's nothing "good" to counteract that bad. I'm sure after you spend eternity in a place like that, you'd get used to the bad that it starts to become mediocre. The same can go for heaven. Spend eternity up there everything good and loving and stuff becomes the norm for you and after a long while becomes mediocre. Then what? Does God pump you with more weed? (i know that sounds offensive, im not talking actual weed, i hope you know what I mean. It's like a person addicted to some drug has to keep taking more and more cuz they get used to the lesser amount, that sort of thing).

Well nobody can know for sure, but I'm inclined to believe nothing.

I mean your body will rot or get burned or what not, but you'll be gone - you die with your brain. It sort of s.ucks I suppose, but it seems most likely to me.

I have no opinion on the matter but I'd still like to share a theory I read. /Essentially, it says that the Earth is a giant glass globe and that we are living in a closed area surrounded by blackness. However, the stars are what stand out in the sky and they're entirely white. These white stars represent life beyond what we know (afterlife) and it is better than where we are now. In this lifetime we have the ability to look through these miniture windows and imagine the beauty of this "heaven". Once we die, we break the glass and enter perpetual "whiteness" or eternal peace. One way that someone can interpret this "whiteness" is as a canvas; anybody can paint their ideal afterlife.

As for the "separated from everything good, nothing would be good," as you put it: But you had a chance to know goodness and turn to God, and you denied it. Like Luc.ifer (Sata.n), you would have turned away from him and thus fallen. Okay, when I put it like that, it sounds kinda harsh...

KatsK: I think her point is that good and bad require the other to have any meaning. How do you define dark without light? Similarly, how do you define H.ell without Heaven? Or bad without good?

Thus after an eternity of torture in H.ell with no good stuff anywhere H.ell would cease to seem bad without that good stuff for reference.

On the other end of the spectrum, in Heaven, without evil, things would cease to seem so good. This is where SuperFloree asks about God giving people more "weed" or something (which by the way is a pretty weird way to put it - I get the point though).

This earth WILL be destroyed. That's the "new" part of new Jerusalem. I meant we don't float up to some heavenly realm, heaven is unseen around us right now ....

waaaiiiit.... so everything's gonna be destroyed? o.o To make way for a new heaven or something? It like some sort of vicious cycle? Maybe we were the old heaven and now after an eternity this good has become mediocre, so now He's gonna create another one O.O
