I would love to participate in this project. It sounds like a great idea and I believe that the general public would be very interested in reading a piece of work like this. I am willing to do anything to make this idea a success!

TeamThespian: Sounds great. You're in then.

Everyone else: That's 12 (assuming Destinee decides she wants to do this). Maybe 3 more slots to get the nice round number of 15? We definitely can't go any higher than that if we want things to stay fresh and clear for the readers.

I think this is a great idea. I would like to help out and contribute. Oh and you should make a Google Docs to make this easier to work on. Just a suggestion. (:

Quantum:

I think you accidently adresses a reply to me as "half.life" instead of "half.note."

Anyways, make sure you save a spot for Breece, he'll definitely want to join in. In fact, I think he had this same book idea before, we just never ended up acting on it.

And you should also create a separate thread purely for the purpose of participants submitted their personal bio, just to keep it more organized.

God bless. ♥

I agree with what LexiDawn said. Google Docs (or now Google Drive) is very helpful when it comes to collaborative projects like this one. It is basically a word document online where you can collaborate and see changes that other people made in real time. If you'd like me to, I could set up the document and we can begin posting introductions. That is, however, if you don't want to make a seperate thread and just post them on TeenInk. Just a suggestion!

Google docs would be a great plan. If you want to make a document to begin posting introductions, TeamThespian, that would be great. We need emails for that though, right?

And yes I really want Breece a part of this, so we'll definitely save a spot for him. Also, Destinee, is TheKing going to participate? If so, that's 15 now, so I'm going to cap it right here for now.

half.note: Oh. That's awkward. My bad.

well i sure missed a lot >.> So is someone gonna set up a google docs then?

And this is totally random, but when it comes to making a book, do we make a cover or does someone else? (Not really related to this, it's just a thought that popped to me right now since i know some of the same books have different covers).

And lemme see if I can get everything straight:

- We have about 15 or so people, and we'd have to get emails from everyone.
- We're gonna work all on one google document.
- We have the following topics i believe: Religion, Science, Art, and, um... what else?

I dunno, this is kinda confusing me, im not good with too many details -_-; *goes back to drawing with contains a LOT of details in it totally contradicting what she just said*

In terms of making a cover, we can either decide to publish this traditionally or self publish. If we go the traditional route we try to sell our book to an agent who then sells it to a publisher who would then make the cover and print the book etc.

If we choose to self publish - in which case we'd probably have to break our anonymity a little bit in order to market it if we want it to be at all successful we'd have to design the cover ourselves (maybe as an artist you could do that SuperFloree) and then we'd pay someone to print it for us. We could also sell e-book copies via amazon for kindle if we choose to self-publish.

Yes we'd all work in one document, although you could draft your essays on your own and then copy and paste them in.

And yes we need everyone's emails. If everyone posts their emails I can create the google doc and send it out and we can all write down eachothers emails and then delete those posts if you don't want your email out on the internet for long.

In regard to topics, that's about it, I think. I mean its a philosophy book, so I don't know what else...

In order to make the book more interesting, we should probably be sure there are varied opinions. Not like 12 Conservative Christians, 1 Liberal Christian, 1 Muslim, and 1 Atheist.

In which case those who agree most could collaborate. Like one could send the other ideas to use in their own posts. They could be mentioned in some way but not be required to put in as much time as those with full-time involvement. *Shrug* That way we don't slam the door on anybody's face but also get a wide variety of opinions.

Thoughts?

CollinF: I agree. How about this? Everybody post your "category" as well as you can and how much time you want to put in. Do you want to write full essays for every topic? Do you just want to give some ideas to your fellow athiests, for example? Also, post your emails.

I'll go first.

I'm an atheist/agnostic. And I am willing to go all in on this and put in a bunch of time.

As for topics here's what we've got so far. What do y'all think:

-The origin of the universe (Big Bang vs. Creation)
-The origin of life
-Evolution (agree or disagree)
-What defines morality?
-Why do humans create?
-What defines reality?
-The afterlife
-The nature of God (if there is one)
-The nature of Jesus
-Why should (or shouldn't) one believe in a higher power?
-Science vs. Religion (do they have to be in conflict)

Is that enough? Do we need more? Is everyone okay with those?

Oh yeah, SuperFloree, can you give us at least some sort of category for your beliefs so we know what we're working with here?

And how much time do you want to spend? Do you want to write a full essay for every topic or do you want to be sort of an idea giver.
