Like, not an actual game where you play and win and stuff, but kinda metaphorically. And more specifically, a video game.
Every living thing is a player.
The universe is the platform.
The mod is an unknown person, to some they are God, to others they're more than one person, and to more the mod isn't even a real person at all.
The code of the game is science. They are the laws that everything must follow and what the mod must regulate. They cannot be broken.
But even if they can't be broken, sometimes the game glitches up, and weird things happen.
We don't know what's gonna happen, so we have to keep playing until the end. Or, you can easily forfeit the game and get a game over much faster (if you know what I mean).
The game has an endless amount of outcomes that may be planned beforehand by the mod or created by you as you continue.
You are rewarded and punished for good things and misdeeds, and you can also work together with other players to contiue the game.
And like the cheezy good sportsmanship saying goes, "in the end, everyone's a winner".
Just my opinion, of course.
I like to think of it (more poetically?) as a story.
But yeah, I agree for the most part.
Agreed, but the fact remains that one thinks its a game until one realizes the potentialities of the finite and the infinite ego.
Then life is one messed up game :P I don't think I wanna play...
Wait... wut's finite and infinite ego? o.o
haha, I saw the title of this an my first thought was, "No? What was your first clue?" ;-)
I like the analogy. But, in the end, doesn't that mean that life is one big time waster (which is what all video games are, when you come down to it)?
Haha. You see, to study that, we'll have to go in a background story....
Dynamo: Oh great XD
WarriorPuella: Technically, yes. I'm gonna say right now that it is a giant time waster, there's no point to it, but very rarely people want to just forfeit a game without reason, so we keep playing ^^
