I was thinking about spider-man and super-man when something hit me. A thought hit me. I think the comic book world is promotion humanism. What are the boundaries of the human body? Look at batman! He's a normal man with no super powers, and took down the entire justice league!

My worry is that the comic book industry is out for more than just entertainment, but social evolution. They want to change any biblical moral value that was taught by our grandparents.

For example, Batman has helped with public acceptance of homosexuals. His comic books past and present has a hint of homoerotic senarios. Though most female characters in batman are dressed skimpy enough, Batman himself has a closer relationship to his butler and Robin. And I've noticed that if a female "super hero" were to have a sidekick, the side kick will also be female. Sidekicks are the same se.x as their "boss".

If you wiki batman, there is a small paragraph on the homosexual psychology of batman. They even have a picture of a batman comic panel from the 50's where batman wakes up with Robin.

This is ABSOLUTELY ridiculous.

I wiki'd this myself, read about it, and after stopping laughing I thought about the implications that some people worry about this.

I don't know whether I should start off with the specifics or the larger implications, I think I'll do the larger implications first.

First off:

Just because something doesn't follow Christian ideas exactly doesn't mean it's an attempt to tear down and attack Christianity.

That's like saying all the non-Christian people are really just trying to stop everyone from being Christian.  That's blatantly untrue.

Second off, just because someone doesn't agree with your specific theology doesn't mean they're not a Christian.

If I was a methodist (which I'm not just fyi) and I believe that you should sprinkle water to baptize people, that doesn't mean I'm automatically the devil incarnate trying to brainwash everyone and cause social evolution to the point where everyone sprinkles water for baptism.

It just means I have a different opinion.  Whether it's right or wrong doesn't change the fact that I'm not seeking out to destroy your opinion.

Alright As for the Specifics:

If you would care to read the rest of that wiki page, you'll see that every single Batman writer but one has said that Batman is heteros.exual.  I'd say majority rules in this case.

Batman has had multiple romantic encounters with women, the reason he hangs around his two friends more can be attributed to countless things other than h.omosexuality.

Maybe he's been scarred by a romantic relationship in the past, maybe he's impotent, maybe he's not easily a.roused, who knows!?

It doesn't mean he's g.ay just because he hangs around his sidekick and butler.

THEY'RE MAIN CHARACTERS, OF COURSE HE'S GONNA BE AROUND THEM.

It's a STORY.  Who he hangs around with isn't determined by his s.exuality, it's determined by THE PLOT.

So he and Robin slept in the same bed?  I saw that panel, they weren't having s.ex, they weren't unclothed, they were't EVEN ON THE SAME SIDE OF THE BED.

Here's a shocker:

People of the same s.ex can sleep together without being g.ay or having s.ex

GASP

Really, this is just the most crazy and ridiculous thing I've ever heard.  I honestly don't know why I bothered to spend this much time writing a response.

People need to chill out.

This is RIDICULOUS!! Its why I brought it up :P

I'll Talk About The Large Implication First:

"Just because something doesn't follow Christian ideas exactly doesn't mean it's an attempt to tear down and attack Christianity."

Maybe. But that isn't what I was implying in my post.

"That's like saying all the non-Christian people are really just trying to stop everyone from being Christian. That's blatantly untrue."

I agree with you here. But that is not what I said in my post. Let me elaborate. Every good idea is capable of becoming a horrible idea. Every good movement and action can be twisted into something evil. Anything meant for good can turn evil.

The comic books are fun to read. I like to imagine people who can do super natural stuff like stopping trains. I wouldn't call it good, but I don't think it was intended to harm anyone in anyway either. But, like all things, it can be manipulated for evil. And I think it has been manipulated for evil.

Lets say that this is real. Lets pretend that comic books had a change in purpose. It is now a weapon in spiritual warfare. I don't know if Stan Lee conscientiously created his stories as a weapon. The author of batman didn't intend batman to be gay. I, personally, don't interpret the Batman to be gay. But someone else might.

"The Batman type of stories may stimulate children to homosexual fantasies" according to Fredrick Wertham, the psychologist. So, whether the writer intended batman to be gay or not, there can be other people who have interpreted the Batman stories to have homosexual implications. And that is what an evil genius master mind would want if he wanted to change society for the worse.

Okay, I just introduced the concept of an evil genius mastermind into the conversation. Yes folks, there is an evil genius mastermind out there. You may know him as the great Deceiver. Maybe you know him as the Beast. You might call him Lucifer. But he is most commonly called Satan. Here is a spiritual being that has been around since the beginning of time. He has had the opportunity to study man for thousands of years. He is potentially the most dangerous criminal in all of creation! He may be behind the comic book conspiracy!!

Satan has been known to manipulate men. He decieved Eve into thinking that she will become like God if she ate the fruit of good and evil. This lie caused the fall of man! I believe that this kind of interaction with Satan is still active today. I think that Satan has the power to magnify our desire to sin. He has the power to inflame temptations. I don't think that he has the power to create temptaions.

In conclusion, I want to point out that you weren't thinking large enough. Whether or not the writer's meant to create a weapon for spiritual warfare, they did.

And now for the specifics:

I know a thing or two about batman. One of them is that he had a romantic relationship with Wonder Woman. Crazy, huh? But hey, I guess amazons like OCD men who dress up as winged mammels.

"So he and Robin slept in the same bed? I saw that panel, they weren't having se.x, they weren't unclothed, they weren't EVEN ON THE SAME SIDE OF THE BED."

The reason this bothers me is because they have no excuse to be sharing a bed. They live in a mansion with atleast 20 bathrooms and 50 bedrooms!!! Why would they share a bed?!?! Why would the writer have them share a bed?

I know people of the same se.x share beds occasionally. But never for no reason! I've shared sleeping space with my best friend before during a campout.

The reason why you spent so much time on this topic is because its new, fresh, controversial, and ridiculous. Same reason why people spew over Obama or Oprah. ;)

Um... The sidekick is usually the same gender as the hero when the writers DON'T want a romantic relationship complicating things. If you have a guy and girl as the two main characters, I can almost guarantee that they'll end up in love. Also, just becaase they're the same gender doesn't mean they promote ho.mose.xualty. I am the same gender as my best friend. That doesn't make me ga.y.

Not every relationship in the world has to be s.exual. I am the same gender as my best friend. That does not make either of us g.ay. Bert and Ernie on Sesame Street are the same gender, live together, and even sleep in the same bedroom. That doesn't make them ga.y.

In fact, pairs in fiction are almost always the same gender when the writers want to AVOID romantic implications. Put a guy and a girl together and I can almost guarantee they will eventually fall in love. Put a guy and a guy together and you'll get an action movie.

Has anyone ever watched the movie "The Replacement Gods"?

It talks about how sci-fi, fantasy, and comic books have characters and "heroes" that replace Christ and misrepresent him.

It's the most eye-opening movie I have ever seen in my life.

If you have the time, you really must watch it. (Especially you, contemplator. I think you'd really enjoy it.)

Here's the link so you can watch it on YouTube:

S.atan can turn anything into a deception.

He can turn Church into a deception

Are you going to stop going to church?

You can't cut yourself off from something just because it's possible S.atan could use it against you, because that's literally almost everything in life.

F--- HE CAN EVEN USE FOOD AS TEMPTATION

Gues Packer's not gonna let his children eat either :P

Packer:

What?

Demonic movies and comic books?

We're talking about BATMAN here.

Never in this thread was any demonic media mentioned.

The paganism of Christmas and Easter?

Christmas is celebrating Christ's birth day, regardless of how it was originated, that's the purpose today.

Easter is celebrating his rise from the grave, and it did originate that way.

Either you mean to say "commercialization" which you can chose not to indulge in or you're outright wrong in this case.

LOL, I wasn't talking about TYPES of food I was talking about how S.atan can tempt you to be GLUTTONOUS.

So YES, NO MATTER WHAT FOOD YOU EAT S.ATAN CAN TEMPT YOU WITH IT.

Are you going to cut yourself off from food?

My point that you're so obviously skirting around and attacking me indirectly (talk about being rude) is that S.atan can tempt you or deveive you with virtually anything and you can't cut youself off from every part of life just because YOU don't have the self control to avoid temptation.

OH, I guess I'm gonna not let my kids believe in the days of the week or planets now either y'know.

Cause something being named after an ancient belief totally makes it evil.

Heck, read this;

ht tp://en.wikipedia.o rg/wiki/Jesus_Christ_in_comparative_mythology

That'll make you really mad.

Also, I apologize if I'm being rude.

i'm not attacking you inderectly, i might've on accident, but i think i've been pretty direct with you:)

yep well you either take this verse literally or you are very close minded:

"And in all that I have said to you take heed. And make no mention of the name of other mighty ones, let it not be heard from your mouth.

Saying "Tuesday" is a sin if you say it like this: "I'm going to off myself on Tuesday, probably. Who knows how? Ropes are cool, but I've always been a big fan of swords myself."

And saying "January" is a sin if you say: "January is when I last broke into the White House..."

Or "Mercury" if you say: "I just poured a ton of mercury down that girl's throat... it was awesome. She died."

Same as saying "Batman is kewl cuz he's a homos.exual."

It's all relative.

To me, Batman is a symbol of how humans can do good without having some superhuman power. Batman fights crime with his own abilities--gadgets, strength, and intelligence. Whether or not that symbol has changed (and it hasn't), the comic book world has not become e.vil. If someone interprets Batman to be a homos.exual, then obviously that's their opinion--you can't stop someone from seeing things the way they want to.

I could say Lady Gaga is straight, because I want her to be, but newsflash: SHE'S NOT. <insert gasp here>

Anyways, I know Satan can turn anything into a deception. Didn't I already make that clear?
I know he can church into a deception. He already has breece. The emergent church is not a church, but a movement within the church. A LIE!!! Beware breece. Be very aware of the church.
I will still go to church.
I know he can use food as a temptation breece. Its called gluttony. You indirectly stated that if one eats food, one is a glutton. :P

So breece, I believe you missed the point in my last post.
