I beleive that Yahsua(who you call J-sus) is the messiah and that every knee will bow and confess that he his king. i believe that we should follow the whole Bible no just the old and not Just the New but all. i don't belive we should follow comentary.we should take the bible literally. and i belive that evolution is false. and i am a strong beleiver in creation.

Okay. I know Judaism places more of an emphasis on orthopraxy and Christianity more on orthodoxy, but it seems to me that the main difference between the two religions is the belief in Jesus being the Messiah-- or do you believe Jesus to be a mortal man, rather than the Son of God?

What do you think about original sin, or the Holy Trinity? Besides the cultural aspect, what you say distinguishes you as J ewish, rather than Christian? Also, just curious, does your family/community share the same beliefs (concerning Yeshua, at least)?

I'm just curious because I've never known someone J ewish to believe Jesus/Yeshua  to be anything more than a prophet of God, and the questions (above) are the only differences I know of between Judaism and Christianity (but I'm far from a scholar, so I very well could be completely wrong). Sorry for all the questions haha

leaf: sorry about the late reply.(well it's late for me cause i'm in online school).
I don't believe in J.udaism. and i live in the city not with Je.ws. i just have Je.wish blood. i came from the tribe of Benjamin. I believe that Yahshua is the son of the father.

what do you mean by origanl sin? i believe the Faher, son, and set-apart(holy) spirit are as one.

again i am only Je.wish by blood. but i guess what would distinguish me would be that i follow the Torah(first five books of the Bible) and i follow all the feast days. and do some traditions.

i'm basically smack dab in the middle of the two religions you could say.

there are a lot more differences between the two but we don't have to get into that because this is a thread about my beliefs:)

I love questions i'm not joking ask all you want:)

Shalom Alechiem!(peace be with you!)

Normally, I would classify you as a christian. But, I guess, you don't like that title. Hey, I'm with you there buddy. The term 'christian' has gotten so whacked out there that even Mother Theresa can be considered a christian!

My grandpa says that most Jews, messianic or not, would claim that they are from the tribe of Benjamin. But that they really don't know what tribe they are because all the records were destroyed, along with the temple... I think thats what he said. And don't kid me, my Grandpa is the smartest guy I know!

Well, one of the smartest. There is the math proffesor. And my pastor. And collin :p

I've got to say, you're by far one of the most interesting people to come to the P&T forum.

I look forward to our future (and present) conversations :)

I feel like they're a test of my writing skills, to try and persuade you :P

:D

It's weird being on at the same time :P

Anyways, I've just read some of the "The Hole In Circular Reasoning" Thread where we discussed violence in the Bible and Qu'ran.

In reply to my verses citing violence in the Bible, I used at least one verse (the last one) where the Jews are commanded to r.ape and take as wives the women of conquered nations as they please.

Explain to me how that constitutes "making sure the generations were wiped out and wouldn't come back", which was your response to those verses.

I'd also like to know how g.enocide is morally acceptable in the first place, but I'd prefer an answer to how r.ape constitutes g.enocide before that.

I really don't know how to get my point across that God told people to r.ape and g.enocide any more than I already have.

Maybe if I say in a different font style.

R.APE AND G.ENOCIDE

:P

P.S. Ignore all my periods in between random words, my reply kept getting eaten by the filter so I've resorted to putting periods in between pretty much any word I think might be catching it.

Um, yes, ra.pe tends to get caught in the filter.

So, for some unfathomable reason, does Je.ws.

Not just plain Jew, though. Or Catholic, or Muslim, or Wiccan, or anything else.

Packerbacker:

Um, people aren't all the same.  That's like saying the Germans attacked America in WWII so we should go exterminate the Germans.

That's racial cleansing.  If that weren't enough, God never commanded them to wipe out the races, God commanded them to wipe out all the males, enslave the children, and "take the women for themselves".

Also, r.ape verses:

Here's a very neutral site with all the verses about r.ape in the Bible:

ht tp://www.openbible.i nfo/topics/r ape

I believe the exact verse was Deuteronomy 20:10-14 or something along those lines.  I know all of them are in the above link though, including verses against r.ape.  It's a pretty neutral site, no bia4s :)

16: But in the cities of these peoples that the LORD your God gives you for an inheritance, you shall save alive nothing that breathes,

17: but you shall utterly destroy them, the Hittites and the Amorites, the Canaanites and the Per'izzites, the Hivites and the Jeb'usites, as the LORD your God has commanded;

18: that they may not teach you to do according to all their abominable practices which they have done in the service of their gods, and so to sin against the LORD your God.

packerbacker: How do you know your in the tribe of benjamin? Weren't the records des.tro.yed along with the tem.ple?

My Grandpa told me that most J.ews would claim that they are from the tribe of Be.njamin, but there is no way to know for sure. And also, so many israelites inte.rbred that there is no clear lineage any more.

What do you say to that?

i will honestly say your grandpa is a liar.
lie#1 actually most jews say they come form the tribe of Judah
lie#2 not all records were destroyed. you still had teh scribes which kept the records of genology.
and yes many of them interbred.no doubt about that. doesn't mean i'm not a small part of the tribe of Benjamin.
and that's what i say to that.

Shalom alechiem!

my post got ate by the filter. i have to repost.

lie#1 yes most records were destroyed but you still had scribes who kept genology. that's like saying 'wasn't the torah gone because it was destroyed in the temple' which is still in the front of your Bible.

lie#2 we interbred yes that doesn't mean that i'm not a small part of the tribe of Benjamin.

That's what i have to say.

Shalom Alechiem!

Lie #1 Is there any evidence you can give me that shows the scribes accuracy?
lie #2 I was just wondering, what's the point of saying your from the tribe of Benjamin when your really only 1/12 benjamin, 1/12 reuben, 1/12 Dan etc.

Packerbacker:

I see where you mention verses about them wiping people out.

You have as of yet to reply to any other facet of our discussion, including r.ape, commands from God to keep the women (contradiction your verses) and the moral implications of G.enocide.

Just thought I'd bump with a reminder :)
