Packerbacker:
Contemplator actually mentioned why you would want to go to an Islamic nation in his posts.
You see as Christians it's our job to "evangelize", or spread the gospel. However we need to connect with people from other cultures to do this, so we need to learn about them.
Peter and Paul taught this and did it themselves, in fact there's one part in the Bible where, I believe it was Paul, connects to a group of non-believers by using their own pagan mythology to explain who God was.
Also, Islam is not a "hateful" religion. That's the Mass Media and Fox News talkin' to ya ;)
The great commission packerbacker12. The great commission. :D
Matthew 28:16-20
16 But the eleven disciples proceeded to Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had designated. 17 When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some were doubtful. 18 And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 [e]Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you [f]always, even to the end of the age.”
eccerb9: [2.190] ...fight in the way of Al.lah with those who fight with you...[2.191] And k.ill them wherever you find them, and drive them out from whence they drove you out, and perse.cution is sever.er than slaugh.ter, and do not fight with them at the Sac.red Mos.que until they fight with you in it, but if they do fight you, then slay them; such is the recomp.ense of the unbeli.evers.
straight from the qu.ran, if you want more i'll give you all the hat.eful ji.had verses in the qu.ran.
packerbacker: You are ignorant! Don't take this as an offence. Its something I kinda admire.
I knew you would go to some 'islam is evil' site and quote all the hate verses. I knew you would because you remind me of myself a few years ago. That is also why I'm replying to your posts.
The Bible has some 'hateful' verses in it also. All the verses that talk about the death of sinful people. Secular people would consider this a hate crime. What people don't see is the love in God. How he had underserved mercy on everyone. How he sent his son to die for all peopl (something I'll bring up in the predestination argument later). Look, you can't tell a muslim about Jesus while, at the same time, telling other people how hateful their religion is. How evil their religion is. Frankly, they will not listen to you.
How can you show love to someone, when you have so much hate against them?
contemplator: i don't h.ate them they ha.te ME i'm a Je.w(that beleives in the mes.siah of the new testament). i can feel the hat.red on Je.ws and Isra.el every.day i look at the ne.ws the m.dia isr.ael news.pap.ers isl.am new.papers. a cha.llenge for you read them your self. and i appreciate being called ignorant:)
.......packerbacker12: um wut? Just yesterday you said you weren't a Jew?
alright i'm gonna be honest here i am guilty i just read my post and changed it. i meant i'm not a Jew religously but i am blood line Jew.
well actually deleted it because i see it has caused confusion about me being a J.ew because even though i celebrate the fea.sts i don't beleive in all the extra stuff Je.ws do. i didn't want people to think that i was a Je.w religously. hope that helps leaf:)
You don't hate them, they hate you? Sorry, but I don't feel a lot of hate coming from Destinee. You, on the other hand, strike me as extremely confrontational at best.
On another note, has Destinne ever hated ANYONE? o.o I'm trying to imagine it and failing.
i'm speaking of middle east mus.lims DON'T put other poeple on the spot in this forum or i will report you to the moderator.
leafy:
Agreed.
packerbacker:
Awww, why didn't cross into Canada? (We have beavers.)
Anyways, I understand your views. I even agree, somewhat.
I will answer your question. We are learning about Islam in Religion class at school, so I became curious. I merely wanted to see for myself what the Islamic religion believes.
What better way than to read the Qu'ran itself?
God bless. ♥
Packerbacker:
Isaiah 13:16 "Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives ravished."
Exodus 32:27 ". . . Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Put every man his sword by his side, and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp, and slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbour."
Deut 21:10-12 "When thou goest forth to war against thine enemies, and the LORD thy God hath delivered them into thine hands, and thou hast taken them captive, And seest among the captives a beautiful woman, and hast a desire unto her, that thou wouldest have her to thy wife; Then thou shalt bring her home to thine house, and she shall shave her head, and pare her nails; "
Kill, rape, murder the woman and children. "As your God has commanded you"
The Bible has plenty of violent verses too. That's because it's about life, and life is an R rated movie.

eceerb9: hold on here the Bible is talking about going to war to make sure that no being is left so that no generation will rise back up against them. now the qu'ran is talking about convert or d.ie.
packerbacker:
Okay. Hm. Could elaborate a little more on your general beliefs, please? Perhaps it's just because the only Jews I personally know are very-secular, association-only-by-culture Jews, but you seem pretty well, Jewish to me. Religiously Jewish, I mean.
Also, as Breece took those verses from the Bible out of context to make a point about violence "advocated" by God, you took those verses from the Qu'ran out of context. Since I have yet to read the Qu'ran, I can't tell you what the context was, but I remember I used to do things like that-- take "evil" verses out of the Qu'ran and certainly out of context.

i'll start another thread for that leaf on my beliefs. i don't want ot change the subject on this thread again:)
Shalom Alechiem!
I think I'll take my chances with the moderator. Breece is a fairly rational guy. :)
