Does Bigfoot Exist (not sure if this is the right place for such a thread, but I'll try it out anyway)

I've heard convincing arguments for both ways, but I'm kind of a skeptic. At the same time though, it would explain a lot of things that a lot of people see. I just can't make myself believe it. Please, post your opinions here.

I've argued with my sister over this forever, because she thinks that bigfoots are real, and I keep telling her, "if they were, someone would have shot one by now."

You can't trust whatever people keep saying they see- a lot of them think it's funny to say they've seen it and watch all the conspiracy theorists freak out. Even the ones who are serious are probably deluding themselves- no one's memory, hearing, or vision is perfect, and it's scientifically proven that people can often fool themseles into seeing what they want to see.

To me, the more pertinent questions are:
Are Bigfoot and the Yeti the same creature? And who actually calls him Sasquatch? Isn't it harder to say (and spell) 'Sasquatch' than 'Bigfoot'?

Well, what I've always been curious about, is how many people say that they see them, and how many people have made up "facts" about them, as if they are a species.

And to answer one of your questions, people probably refer to them as sasquatches, because it sounds more scientific to them.

Okay, altering my question: what are people's connotations about bigfoots, how did they come up in the first place, and what are these "facts" about them based on, and why in the world do so many people just believe they exist without any proof whatsoever?

Please answer, believers and skeptics alike (I'm one of the skeptics)

Imagine, I have to disagree. The MOST pertinent question is . . . Is it Bigfoots, or Bigfeet?

Well, that's another reason to refer to them as sasquatches. If you don't know the plural, you can automatically just refer to them with a different name.

Well, I know someone who wears, like, size 1000 shoes (okay, it might be more like size 14 or something, but he still has really big feet). :P

Yeah, sorry, I'm just being silly.
My sincerest apologies for making you go through that.
I will pay for therapy! Promise! I'm cruel, not diabolical.  :O

Regardless, we must now discuss serious matters:

Bigfoot.

^Thought I could type that with a straight face, but I didn't manage. (Translation: there's nothing serious about Bigfoot.)

Honestly, I have no idea how people came up with Bigfoot. But I know from experience that human beings are often silly and strange.
Maybe it was a story that someone made up to keep children out of the woods. Or a wild tale that a hunter told his buddies over a beer one day that somehow spread.

Ah well, it doesn't affect me one way or the other.

I'm kind of obsessed with Finding Bigfoot (TV show), because I've always thought that it is so stupid that it's funny. ex. They have stated that "bigfoots are often seen in an around cemetaries and graveyards." How they came up with that, I have no idea.

I vote Bigfeet. :)
Actually, why isn't that his name in the first place? He has two of them, after all.

Because the first original track was cast in the 1950's  and since it was so big, the person who cast it started calling it Bigfoot.

Well, if there aren't any evidence against his existance, then he could be real. I don't really care. To be honest, BigFeet is just as real to me as Justin Beiber and Jackie Chan.

There are days I wonder if Lady Gaga is real... What twisted imagination dreamed her up? :)

(Sorry for repeatedly pulling this thread off-topic. With a topic like Bigfoot, I just can't resist.)

It's fine. This is pretty funny. When I first heard of Lady Gaga from my little sister, I thought that my sister had made her up :)

Philosophically speaking,

does Exist bigfoot?

And while we're on topic, I have to say that I am completely convinced he is real given the empirical evidence here:
