Presidential Debate 01

I think that Obama:
1. needs to take a chill pill and stop talking so much
2. has a corny sense of humor
I think Romney:
1. looked particuarly smug
2. needs to be more detailed with his explanations
I think they're both crazy, and if there has to be a president it should be Ron Paul.
conspiracy theory: Presidents are distractions from what REALLY goes on.
opinions?

I'm not much for politics. I see that a lot of people want Obama though.
Who's Ron Paul? Don't get mad 'cause I really don't know. Like I said I'm not for politics.

I feel you Zephyr. Conspiracies aren't just theories, a good majority of the American ones are accurate. Personally about the Presidents, I feel as though no matter who "leads" the country, all the good and bad things he/she did would have happened if anyone was President.

Of course they are.  They (in general) are in place to give the populace the illusion of having a choice.  When someone who seriously talks about change comes along, e.g. Ron Paul, they are ignored by the establishment and the banker/corporate media, who of course have no interest in changing the status quo.

Anyway, the whole politics farce is just part of our bread and circus.  Be happy.

Amie... Ron Paul ran as a republican candidate for president.  He actually won Iowa (the first state) but the votes were mis-allocated until several months later, by which time it was obvious the establishment wouldn't let him win the nomination.  He's probably more electable than Romney, but wants to end the wars and various other things the rest of the republicans don't like.

The issue is that the president can only do so much because no one is willing to work together in congress.

The president already far overreaches the powers given him in Constitution.  Most of the administration of the government was supposed to be through Congress; the president was supposed to be more or less a figurehead and the Commander in Chief after Congress declared War.

(Note that Congress hasn't declared War since WW2.)
