Question: Why and How does deja vu happen?

My Theory:

For christians- god has a plan. The War is already won. God's time is different from our time. Furthermore, we have already done what we just did, we are merely just "catching up". Thus proving His divine plan and the soon to come victory over evil,( or shall I ask has it already happened?)

For Other religions:Destiny.Fate." Whatever happens, happens". "It was meant to be".  No matter how you say it it is believed that there is a reason for everything even if you do not know it yet. Thus Deja Vu comes in when, in hindsight of a situation, you tell yourself "it waseant to be", because it already happened...there are no accidents...fate....destiny....must I go on?

But I'm not claiming to right, i just want to know what's left. It's only a theory of mine and I would really appreciate it if I could get some input or other ideas from everyone no matter if they think their idea is "ridiculous" (what isn't?)...please and Thank You!

deja vu happens when the brain accidently processes information from the eyes twice, making the second time seem familiar. Or something like that. I can't quite remember.

I don't know if this is backed by science, but I think deja vu happens when something happens to you in real life that happened to you in a dream before. (because we only remember the last dream before we wake up, there are lots of dreams that we don't remember, so that's what makes deja vu strange.)

By the way, what language does 'deja vu' come from?

Deep_Abyss...: Could you explain your theory a little more? I don't rightly understand it.

"God has a plan" Yep. He sure does.

"The war is already won" Right again. Total agreance.

"God's time is different from our time" He might as well be. God isn't chained down by our time.

"Furthermore, we have already done what we just did, we are merely just "catching up"" Ummmmm, what? Thats where I'm confused.

"Thus proving His divine plan and the soon to come victory over evil, (or shall I ask has it already happened?) Now I am very  confused.

How can we do something we haven't done yet? Are you saying that Deja Vu is us remembering what we have already done? If so, did we know that we will do it again?... to be continued.

"For Other Religions: Destiny. Fate. "Whaterer happens, happns". "It was meant to be"... Wouldn't Deja vu merely be part of you predestined fate (predestined being redundant due to the definition of 'fate'). If Dejavu can alter your choice in any situation, then it would be part of your destiny to recieve. So, I'm confused with the "it waseant to be" statement. What does 'waseant' even mean?

Thank you for bringing this up, its fun to think on the immpossible.

Contemplator- I'm pretty sure that 'waseant' was a typo for 'wasn't'.

Dynamo- I'm confused, too. I didn't even read the whole thing because it made my head spin.

Abyss- Don't you think it's a bit of an over-simplification to list 'christain' and 'other religions'? I understand that you probably just didn't want to do that much deep research in other religions, (trust me, I probably wouldn't, either,) but... yeah.

I've also heard that deja vu occurs when there is a mistake in your memory storage process. Something that you are currently doing is supposed to go to your short-term memory, but when deja vu happens it is going to your long-term memory instead, thus making you feel like you have already experienced whatever is happening at sometime in the past.

Well... God's time is not like our right? So, to him we have already done what we have just did. Perhaps it'll help if I mention that I have read the Left Behind Series by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins where they create a scene in which a character visits heaven without dying and when he arrives he can see time unfold before him (meaning he sees the future according to his "Time zone"). Anothe book that influenced this theory is " Heaven is For Real" by Todd Burpo ( the father of the main character, BTW True Story) and it mentions in the book how the little boy, Colton, claims to watch his father fight in the battle of Armageddon and experience this whole battle even the victory over Lucifer ( the devil)... Currently I am reading  " 90 minutes in Heaven" by Don Piper and I'm curious to see if this person will also claim to experience Aramageddon, if he was fortunate enough that is... So sorry for the confusion. The topic in itself is quite complex...:I ;) But if you'd like to see for yourself I invite you to do so and read these awesome books!;D

What I meant was that deja vu is merely just your brain "remembering" you've already done this... Just imagine...You're at the end of your life and you look back & realize that everything you've done, everything done to you or around you, all had a purpose, even if it was just the simple act of gravity pushing you down when you try to defy it or the quick blink of your eyes at a vital moment past... No matter what you did to try and "alter" your destiny, your fate, everything was "meant" to happen... so how was it meant to happen if didn't already happen? Perhaps I'm over-thinking this topic but I just can't help but wonder "what if ?" It's some what like the topic of " did the Egg come first or the Hen?" hilarious right? ... :I

and the "waseant" was meant to be " was meant". Pardon My English! :D

Yes, actually... I think so, but I would really appreciate it if others with another point of view, not just religion, to express their ideas in my lack of research...:I However I do apologize if I offended anyone, really...

Contemplator:Hmm...interesting... and do you believe it? Just curious as to how this deja vu stuff works in your terms of speaking...as in I'm not very familiar with this concept and would love your further input. :D

Other Religions:

Don't have the same views as christians do right?

Well, to sum it all up, destiny and fate take the place of "God's plan" in the christian belief...

Better? Or is that not what you're talking about?
