I love ballet. If you've seen 'Black Swan' it's absolutely nothing like that. I get teased at school sometimes because of how i love ballet. I defend it with all i've got. It's close to my heart and I love it to pieces! Anyone else love ballet? Have any questions bothering you? I LOVE TO TALK ABOUT BALLET

Oh wow , awful ! I probably won't see it then because that is not the first negative review I heard about it. Russian style as in classical vaganova method ? I am not able to take ballet now ( I can't afford it ) and since I can't learn at home..I just read about it trying to educate myself with the terms, styles, attire, history..stuff like that. I also try to strengthen ankles, core, calves right now as my area of focus. I tried to engage turnout buuut I am like nervous to try anything in fear of doing it wrong. All I can do now is just watch others and read. Your really fortunate to be able to take ballet , russian style too.. That's awesome!!

It's not rambelling.

I can't afford ballet either but i'm on a scholership at my school so i don't have to pay.

Yes i do classical. The head of my school used to work with the Bolshi.

I really, really disliked Black Swan. It gave me the heebie geeibies and i don't think it was worth an oscar. There! i said it!

That's really great. A schloarship..is awesome! I don't believe I can get one of those. Well , if that's how you feel , that is how you feel.  If you don't mind....Do you mind if I ask you a few ballet related questions since you actually do ballet yourself ?

All righty , thank you.

Are you pursuing ballet as a professional or recreational ?

What drew you to even start ballet ?

Are you on pointe or on flat ? Do you want to go on pointe if on flat ?

What do you love about ballet the most ?

i'm presuing it recreationally

i've loved ballet all my life, and when i had the chance to go for a scholership i went for it

i have been on pointe but mainly i work on flat as my teachers are mad at me because i've been revising instead of comming to class

that's a difficult one, i guess i love it's grace

I love dancing more than anything else in the world, even if it takes up so much of my time. There aren't any good ballet schools around where I live, so I go to an all-around competition training studio that happens to have really good ballet classes. I think I'm the only serious student there who isn't on one of the jazz comp teams.

I absolutely love ballet as well! I've been doing jazz for three years and decided to do ballet so I can build up technique and strength. It's just so beautiful, really. I even started pointes this year! But I do have one question, if you don't mind . . . What are some good exercises to strengthen your ankles and your metatarsals? I'm having trouble balancing on pointes without the barre because my ankles give out.

I totally get you! I think that people dont understand ballet! I don't know how long you have danced, or if you do pointe or not. But sadly there are parts of ballet that are like black swan. Iv been doing pointe for years now and the expectations that are put on you to be perfect is just ... Sad. But ignoring that ballet is amazing :)

If I am able to answer this. And if it's not to late. Use therabands. They are amazing you just put them on the balls of your feet and point and flex. It helps A TON!

Hey! I'm a competition dancer and love Ballet. I'm in senior classes and help little ones with ballet!
It's definitely not at all like Black Swan. But I did like the movie because it was so dark and twisted.
