Lexus, I had an idea for Adelle's last name: Aetos. It's Greek for 'eagle'. What do you think?
Yeah! I like that, it sounds nice together.
Good! I'm glad.
Yeah, so for Leo's last name how about Thais? Which is greek for beloved, since he is a bit of a hopeless romantic, I thought that would be good. And how is the story coming along?
It;s coming along good. I haven't been able to work on it much today, however. I homeschool, and I go to a cooprative all day Mondays. It should be up soon. Also, a great surname for Leo!
No big deal, take your time!
Lexus, I have two quick thingd to say: the first is that I have decided to change the story very slightly from what I had said a few posts ago by making Adelle's chapter chapter one. The second is thank you SO much for writing those poems. They have really helped me create Adelle and Leo, because I had something to base them off of! Normally my characters seem sort of random, but these sem much better. Thanks!
Alright, that is totally okay! And you're welcome, I tried very hard to make them relatable to what you asked for and I am so glad that they are helping you! I am excited to write more for the story when the time comes. And I have a new poem pending that I think you are going to really like when it's posted on my page.
Okay! What's it called?
Lexus, you saw the video for Avalanches, right? How would you describe the blanket/cloak thing that she had around her shoulders?
The name of the poem is 'Wolves Among Sheep'. And I believe they are actually called cloth ponchos!
Okay, thank you!
Lexus, I've got two quick things: the first is thatI may have trouble talking to you on here because the TeenInk forums are messed up, at least on my computer. Also, I was reading Leo's poem again and saw the lines 'I wonder how it feels to look in someone's eyes/To sing them sweet little lullabies.', and I was wondering if you could consider writing a short lullaby or two for the book.
Yes, the forums are messed up on my computer also. I think that TeenInk may be making some changes. And I will try my best, I have never written a lullaby! I will do a bit of research on them and try to figure it out.
Alright, so lullabies are basically short, sweet little songs consisting of about eight lines. What would you like the two lullabies to be about?
Ummmmmmm..... anything really. Maybe one that Leo will sing to Adelle to comfort her and one that Adelle would hum to herself? Also, I don't know if you saw the comment that I left on the Valley of the Dolls poem, because I can't look at those, but do you know the Greek word for 'caring'?
Also, Lexus, do you ever read any short stories on here?
Okay, I will start working on those after I eat dinner. Let's see, I have looked at a lot of websites and from what I can tell 'merimnao' is Greek and translated to 'to care' in English. And yes, I do read short stories!
I am going to wipe these tears and calm your cry,
oh little bird this is your lullaby.
Lay down your head and close your eyes
when you wake you'll see a brighter sky.
Please let all of your troubles lay,
because I will never leave you astray.
When you're with me you must have faith,
for don't you worry I will keep you safe.
Now little bird you get to fly
because you know I will be here to help you try.
Okay, that is the lullaby that Leo sings Adelle to comfort her. Do you like it? Is there anything you want changed?
