totally understand. some of the things im writing are to at the begining :p
theyr amazing! :) keep writing!
I am a self-acclaimed critic, so I'm really sorry if I offend any of you. Please feel free to be as critical of my characters as you wish.
Conner: a 8 for a different age for many adventure novels and and nice plot line.
Edena: 5, sorry, but this a pretty typical character and plot line.
Micah: 8, I love the way he has so many different faces and ways that he acts (pardon my grammer).
Josalins: 7, I love the way his name is so different and different from many other stories, but again his character is very typical.Amber is an average high school girl who learns one summer that she is part of a magical world where she is the only female of her kind, and because of this she is at the center of an epic battle for control of the forest where the world dwells. Her friend, Peri (the other main character) has been in this world all his life, but at the same time is as new to all of this as she is. While in the forest, both are seven feet tall and a dark brown complexion with lighter brown spots on their hands designating their special trees (which hole their powers)
What about Dudley and the gang? Any comments? As for Amber, she seems pretty cool, but sounds a little Lord of the Rings, with her being Frodo (in a much larger form) or Inheritance with her being Eragon. The whole unlikely hero thing has been done before, but with the trees and stuff, it sounds like you are ready to take it in a whole new direction - 8.
And thanks Atrissa! :D
Derek Price-He's a prince in my fantasy series. He's seventeen years old. He has short black hair. He's a little rebellious but mostly becuase his father kept such a strict, un-loving, short leash on him. He's a fighting junkie. Loves a good swordfight. He has good morals, but he's got an edgy attitude. And he wants to break free from his life as a prince and become a warrior. He struggles with depression and thoughts of suicide.
Derek sounds like a 7. I would rate him higher, because he sounds like a really great character, but I think he has traits that conflict too seriously for a high rating. Most of the time "fighters" aren't the depressed, because they think of life as a fight. I may be wrong on that one, but I know that I'm a bit of a fighter, and every time something bad happens I think of it as another challenge to overcome, making me more of a strong optimist than a depressed person...
Hm, you have a point.
I'll tell youmy character... Her name is KarLeigh ands she's a fifteen year lod who fugures out she can control people with her mind when a bully tries to beat her for her friend accidently running into her. KarLeigh ends up on the run from the Feds and discovers that you can't trust everybody, even yourself. She has unusual auburn hair, a medium complexion, and one emerald green eye and one brilliant amber eye. She's the main charcter in a novel I'm working on getting published in February
Also, she's really stubborn and is a total fighter for her cause
8 - sounds cool to me!
^unshed.tears- that sounds really cool! id say 9 :) asiam- ;)
Rank: Random scavenger, provides small yummy novelties to whichever group he's staying with at the time.
Species: Red Fox (Sorry for being so stereotypical! D:)
Appearance: Monk walks like he owns everywhere he goes, and it gets him into trouble a lot, which he loves, despite how much trouble he actually gets into. He looks like almost any other red fox, pardon the fact that he's smaller, sleeker, and smirks more than everyone else combined. He was malnourished as a cub, so his ears and nose often look too long for his face.Other:
Has "The Smirk" down to an art. The runt of his litter, Monk named himself and wandered off at too young of an age and wound up getting captured as an illegal pet by humans. As a result, he's good at begging, and (when unsure if his facts are right) has been known to make up Two-legger behavior. But, at heart, he's still a guy. He likes to admire the ladies, raise a little mischief, and has been known to poop where he eats. (Only once or twice. ;)
he seems interesting. I'd rate him a seven. Can you rate my two characters Ella and Shane? I have them posted under a different thread I made. its character features/ personality
Um...you'd have to read the first several chapters of my book to understand the main-character. It would take me a long time to get it down again on paper. Good job on the characters everyone!
This story takes place in a kind of Wild West setting.
Name: Meridian Ontario, but her alias is Kay Raherro
Appearance: Meridian has thin, dirty blonde hair that used to be long and thick, but was singed just below her shoulders in a fire. She is tall and slender, which is an unusual appearance for people in the town that she lives in, and she doesn't appear to be a fighter. Her eyes are pale blue-gray and piercing, as if she's staring into your soul, and her face is expressive and somewhat hawk-like. She always moves very fluently and briskly, as if she has somewhere to be.
Personality: She's incredibly perceptive, and hates the law force, even though she's a detective. She says that she's a private eye, because a detective works for the law, and private eyes work for themselves. She's not particularly social, and she always acts as if she's trying to put together a puzzle of someone's whereabouts. She's pessimistic most of the time, and quick to pull out a gun. She has two handguns: one of them is always fully loaded, and the other has only one bullet left in it. An outlaw shot her with this one bullet, and, being the fighter she is, she removed it from the wound, kept it, and put it back in her gun for revenge against the person who sent this outlaw against her. She's vengeful, and always holds a grudge for far too long, and she's suspicious of everyone she meets, but once she trusts someone, she is the most loyal person you can meet.
Other: She prefers to work alone, and refuses to show strong emotion when others are around. She struggles with herself when she falls in love with her desk-jockey assistant who follows her on a case, and is forced to shoot him after he is bitten by a venomous snake on his wrist.
Meridian's story is generall quite depressing, but I named her Meridian, because she is like the center mark between a hero and a villain.
I'd have to explain more for you to understand her fully, because she's got a lot more than that, but then I'd have to just post my whole novel on here.
I just now realize that this thread was discontinued a long time ago...
Anything about her family? What about her age?
Her family was from an island in the Mediterranean, but when this island went to war with a neighboring island, she was shipped to the American West, where she fit in quite well, despite her conspicuous appearance compared to most people in her town. She's in her late twenties, maybe about 27, and the story mainly focuses on the last four or five years of her life. Since she hardly knew her family, and doesn't know where she's from, it isn't a big part of her life.
