Hungry but Never Satisfied

Faith is like being hungry
I think.
And it seems like
My stomach’s never full.
Almost like chewing on
A wad of gum.
My taste buds waver
And then I start to drool.
What can I do
To be satisfied?
So much is the longing
Of this heart.
I trust You, God.
So why do I feel
Half-empty, as though,
I’ve been missing from the start?
I never stop
Consuming Your life—
You see all
So you do know.
But still I’m restless,
Why am I restless?
Lord, I’m yours
Make me grow.
This isn't finished, but I wanted to see what people thought of it... so feedback please :)

This poem made me smile, but it also made me think. I like how you mixed a lighthearted metaphor: chewing gum, being hungry- with a serious message. I think it's great when people do that. :)
This is nice. I look forward to reading the finished version, if you decide to put it up.
