its just what the christian church does. im not sure of the background other than thats what they did in the Bible

I don't have a religion, I'm atheist. I don't believe there is a God (or gods). Contrary to what some people say, atheism is NOT a religion. We don't get together on a regular basis to discuss our non-belief or anything like that. Not believing in God is akin to not believing in unicorns (not that I'm comparing belief in God to believing in unicorns). You probably don't believe in unicorns, but do you get together with like-minded people to discuss it? Of course not. So that's how most atheists are.

No, I don't think it does because it's from the perspective of a religious person. Just as atheists can't fully understand a person's frame of mind when they believe in God, religious people can't fully understand a person's frame of mind when they don't believe in God.

Not to be offensive, but following the theme of that quote: "The belief that there was nothing, some dude came into being and created everything perfectly as it is, then got angry at his children for *gasp* disobeying him, as children do, and punishing their descendants for their 'bad behavior' for all time."

not offended at all. but i can give a...idk the right word so im gonna say "comeback". i believe that there was never nothing, God always existed, time wasnt there so its not like He was there forever, but it is? anyway, i believe that He did infact creat everything as it is perfectly, bcuz there are somethings that even scientists cant think of a reasonable theory for. and god created adam and eve and told them they could have a perfect life if they obeyed God's one rule, do not eat from this one tree. God didnt punish them out of wrath. He is not an angry God like His reputation says, but that one sin that was committed lead to a domino effect. theres a lot to it but thats me trying to keep it short lol
