I want to hear opinions on school bullying. If you guys know what it is, if you think it is good or bad, or if you have any stories about school bullying. Maybe some prevention ideas, or ways you have prevented bullying. don't be afraid to share thoughts! <3

Anyone who thinks bulling is good is twisted. I was bullied in elementary school and I didn't even realize it until later, and it was absolutely not fun at all.

thank you for responding! <3 yes, i believe it is very very bad! it hurts the victims so much ,and can leave scars that last a lifetime. awww, i'm so sorry to hear you were bullied. I was too, it was horrific! When did you realize you were being bullied? (like how long did it take you realize?)

Not until the end of eighth grade (by then it had stopped). I guess kids just don't understand what bullying even means. At least this one didn't lol.

Yeah, my school never taught it I don't think. I remember talking about it a little in sixth grade though

I think I might not have realized it because it was more verbal than physical. But still, you'd think my teacher would realize that it was bullying when I told him, right?

aww, the schools i went to never adressed the issue, they never even explained what it was either. and yes, if you told the teacher, he should have done something... sadly most don't. i guess they feel it's just not in their job description or something. or they are afraid!!! i plan on working in a school after i graduate college, i want to be a school counselor or a principal, so i make sure to adress bullying.

oh that would be so helpful for kids! I was forced to see the school counselor once or twice, but I never told HER anything. (it was only cause I was crying that they made me see her)

bullying is wrong in every sense of the word/act/idea. people who bully should be punished severely; unfortunately schools and teachers and parents aren't taking the issue seriously enough.

Hurtful comments are traded all the time, sometimes not even knowingly.  But when it gets to the level of bullying, constant hurt and harrassment, something needs to be done.

@ save the planet. great input! what are some ways YOU think bullying should be dealt with? give us some examples if you have any? and @ paw night stalker, some schools DO NOTHING about bullying, if you think it is a problem, you should really really really try to do something about it, maybe bringing up the idea to your principal and counselor! and @max, i am so sorry about what you're going through, i wish i could help you. you should check out my article called taking a stand, it may inspire you. you should speak up to your conselors and principal and parents about what you're dealing with!!!!

Bullies are people with low self esteem. I'm a very protective person and I have stood up to bullies for other people before and realized that they aren't all super mean people, some of them have been hurt or are going through tough times. However, that does not give them a right to hurt other people. I don't stand up for myself and have had the experience of bullies for 6 years and I was in an abusive relationship, so my bf was a bully. But I think teachers, parents, and other adults need to help us out of bullying situations and they need to completely realize how much this hurts people for the rest of their lives.

So I'm a nerd, and that in its self brings in bullies. My whole group of friends has been fake asked out or had rumors about how they're with someone (my friend Archana, acording to the rumors, has been with every Indian person in the school, because apparently being Indian means you must be with someone else like that). Then, there's also the fact that guys are always coming to our table just to annoy us (at one point, a teacher saw this, and then immediately looked away). During gym, I had gotten out in a dodgeball game, and then people continued to hit me on purpose as I left. Then, they all joined together to get me out, over and over again. I guess I just tolerate it now, but it really sucks.

@ novelist123, oh your circumstances break my heart. i promise you, life does get better after high school. however, i know it can seem so far away. keep your head up and realize you/your friends don't deserve any of that mistreatment. and try to report it as much as you can!!!
