What does "i love you" mean to you?

"I love you " means happiness, it means that you can talk about anything with this special somebody that every time you look into their eyes you can see the best of you in them, that every time you hold hands a feeling of warmth is created in your soul, every time you see this person a smile is naturally drawn on your face. That is love to me.

....Saying to someone that you love them.....

Is reserved only for the person who makes you happy when they smile. Who makes you happy when they're near you.... yes. You're happy when that person is happy. The person who you love for being them...knowing all their good and bad, and still loving them for who they are. The person who feels that way to you in return. The person who...when you say goodbye to them....your heart aches in pain. And when you're with them....you feel like you're glowing inside.

The person who can make me feel that way is who I would say "I love you" to.

I believe that love has a lot of different meanings.
At it's deepest truest form I think it just means "I understand and value you, I would never want to lose you, and I would make sacrifices to make you happy. You know me better than I know myself. You're someone I want to spend all of my time with, and I miss you when you're not around."

But it could also mean: "You mean a lot to me, I know you understand me and I never want to hurt you. I won't forget you."

for me the biggest part of love is missing them when they're not there. Whether it's friendly love romantic love or family love, it's all about knowing that you can come to them, and be with them. It's pretty complex but, my friend once told me they didn't have romantic feelings for me, but at the end of the conversation he said that he loved me. Obviously it's a different kind of love but it should be just as powerful, because it means just as much only under different circumstances. So love is just important.

Well it depends on how you use it i know alot of people who say i love you but their actions dont say it. I havent said "i love you " in a romantic way before so to me i love you means I care for you i trust you . I Would never hurt you intenionally  i respect you and what you have to say I enjoy your presence i would never want to loose whatever connection we have.

It is hard to know when love is real...

In my opinion love is when you are cut so deep the thought of someone leaving hurts so bad...but you know they never would!

Love is the most powerful thing in the world.  It drives people to do horrible things, yet it drives people to do good things as well.

"I love you" means that you accept someone for who they are, no matter what.  Your heart races when you see them.  You wouldn't change them and no amount of money/power/whatever would convince you to abandon them.  Loving someone means you want them to be happy...even if it means you're not the one they're happy with.

And now, a quote from my father: "Love is blind as well as deaf, dumb and stupid."

I love you isn't just three little words. It's a promise that even as the world is crashing down around you, someone will always be there to hold your hand. It's a promise between two people that nothing can ever tear them apart. It's a promise that no one can replace you in their heart; a promise that you are their one and only.

Seeing as I'm the least romantic person out there, I though that was pretty deep. I don't know what the rest of you thought though.

a. "I am tired of this awkward silence."

b. "I'm a writer who uses mild clichés."

c. "I'm breaking up with you."

d. "You alone amount to more than everything else in the world added together, and if you are ever about to die, I want to die with you. You make me want to be pure and vulnerable and brave and lots of other things I don't know how to say, and because I don't know how to say them I am saying this. But this doesn't work, this doesn't describe everything I want to say. Three words isn't enough, but it's all I have, and I wish I had more to give you."

e. "Everything I say is a lie."

I love you means: I care about you, I want you to be happy, I will do anything for you, you mean everything to me. I love you means you are perfect so never change and I will always be here for you.

To truly mean an "I love you", I think, is to care for that person's happiness more than anything in the world. Even if it makes you unhappy, you will do it, just to see that one person smile.

or, a rather good quote, i think, is "Love is acceptance in it's purest form."

" I love you" means 'I'll pretend to care for you. I'll play with the veins in your heart. I'll confuse you with my jealousy. I'll secretly laugh at your drastic emotions. I'll hold you when you need me to, but I am really trying to sneak the knife out of my sleeve to stab in your back. I'll sleep with your best friend ten times before I'll consider it with you. I'll start rumors in school about you just so I can see you cry. I'll keep you addicted to my kiss so I can watch you come crawl back on your knees when you realize how much of an utter failure you are without me. I'll say your my life, when really you'll be the death of my social life. I'll cuddle with you at the movies so you can feel horriblly lonely when I'm NOT there. I'll say I love you so sincerely that you have no other option than but to believe it....." Pathetic.

What do I think about love?...Well love can mean lots of things...Love is something...something so strong, so powerful, so pure and untainted by the hands of greed. Love is something that connects parnets to their kids, friend to friend, lover to lover...Yes its just a word but a word with a VERY big meaning. It shouldn't nor ever be used for grented. Love is a muse that we can all sing to, its a feeling that will never ever ever wear off.

I think it means that there is no one else that you would rather be with. you should say i love you to the person that u would gladly give up your life for, and will love no matter what, no matter who they r. it's complicated cuz its different btwn each pair of ppl but i think that u can feel it probs. if u feel just torn when ur apart. thats my idea of what it should mean anyway and when you should use it
