I really don't understand how people can claim that gun control laws won't reduce gun-related crime, or death. I don't know about crime or murder overall, I haven't looked into these things, but one could understand how it could make these things more difficult.

There's boat loads of information with regards to other countries that have done this, and had it work out pretty great for them.

Australia is a great example. Our laws are a little more controlling than what I think would happen in the US though (if gun control laws are passed).

It's the same situation in Canada. It's normal not to have a gun under your bed, therefore nobody really cares about the fact that it's illegal to own a gun (with the exception of guns used for hunting, assuming you have your hunting liscense). The entire purpose of a gun is to be a weapon, so personally I don't see any reason why it should be legal at all. What do you use it for?

hmm its been a bit since anyones posted.... wonder if anyone will care about this, eh probly not but i will say: guns are important to some people in some states, so gun laws in my opinion should be a state or county thing NOT a nationwide thing, people in the city might want a small handgun and concealed weapons permit for safety, while someine in wyoming needs a shotgun or at least a higher caliber/guage firearm than a lil 22 pistol because of coyotes, wolves that sort of thing. and to some people having a gun is not just protection, or a tool, its a way of life. where i live target shootin is how we spend our sunday afternoons and yes im aware how stupid that sounds to some people i`ve already been told several times

It was Ronal Reagan, a Republican, who said, “I do not believe in taking away the right of the citizen for sporting, for hunting and so forth, or for home defense. But I do believe that an AK-47, a machine gun, is not a sporting weapon or needed for defense of a home.”
