Well, fertilizer is a nitrogen compound, which is highly flammable. A lot of bombs are made with nitrogen compounds. An ANFO bomb is about 94 percent ammonium nitrate (found in fertilizer) and about six percent fuel oil. You don't need that much fuel to create a reaction. The ammonium nitrate absorbs fuel easily and oxidizes it, creating an explosion. It was an accident I'm guessing, it happens.

^I'm with Sorla. Besides, why would you waste a perfectly good missile on a fertilizer plant. If it is collateral damage, Try a mall, or a populated area.

I don't think it was a missile, but I do wonder if it wasn't in some way connected with the Boston b.ombings?

No, I dount it was connected. Why a fertilizer plant? Everyone keeps thinking it was related or that it was a conspiracy. I want to know why, if it was all those things. they decided to hit a Fertilizer plant in the middle of Texas. basically in the middle of nowhere. FERTILIZER.

It was an accident. Fertilizer is a highly reactive material. There is no conspiracy.

i'm just playing devil's advocate, i don't really have a stance on the subject.

4/20 was the day of the oklahoma city bombings, and it was done with fertilizer bombs, and the texas thing was done two days before the anniversary of the oklahoma bombings. correlation?maybe.

Maybe not, if the methane gas builds up it can cause an explosion, and thats how the explosions in Oklahoma happened. Pressurized methane from Fertilizer. Could have happened the same way in the plant, just bigger. btw it measure a 1.7 on the Richter scale.
