Majority rules because the majority is stronger than the individual.

My entire argument FOR Anarchy in on sentence...
We are human.
And my argument against institutionalized government in on sentence...
We are ALL human.
Humans are meant to band together in familial groups, fight for their family's survival, and live and interact with the world in peace. Humans are a fascinating animal and primates are probably the most interesting branch of evolution ever. What happened? We need to stop thinking we're above other animals. We ARE animals, Human is our species. Our class is Synapsida, which includes a lot of reptiles and dinosaurs, and or kingdom is Animalia, which even includes fish. We are all related and interconnected, even with the birds and trees. So why can't we get along with our own species? Because animals are naturally competitive. They have a biological drive to survive and pass on their genes at all costs. This helps the species as a whole to create stronger offspring and evolve in an efficient way so the species can survive for as many generations as possible. Where does government and society fit into all this? No where. It's a distraction, an evil, and will be the cause of the extinction of Homo Sapiens. Not to worry, another species shall take our place as top predator. I'm guessing bats or rats as 3/4 of the mammal species on earth are bats and rodents. And there is my human extinction rant... xD

((Ok, I've spent ten minutes getting frustrated and posting and posting, and the reason it didn't post was because I said H.omo Sapien. And then I tried to put a period after the o instead of after the h and it still gave me grief...grr))

My entire argument against your entire argument in however the f--- long it takes me do I look like I give a f--- :
:P

The problem is that in order for anarchy to work, everybody would have to agree on it.  Because a disorganized group of "familial" primates will not stand up to a nation of humans with a fully functioning military.

Simply put, I think we are significantly different from animals, seeing as how we have nukes.

That's the technology talking. Like I said, humans are to smart for their own good and our intelligence shall be the cause of our specie's extinction event. If we were to recede back to our nature intended ways, meaning little to no infrastructure and no technology or crazy anti world inventions such as nukes, not only would the entire world be a functioning anarchy, but our species would survive for many more generations. If we're lucky, we may even evolve back into primates or take to the ocean and never need to worry about our creepily extreme intelligence ever again.

Pfft, at this point we're completely into the realm of speculation.

Regardless, in the real world as it is now, anarchy would never work.

In an ideal world where we never came out of our primate ancestors, it's debatable, and not a life I'd enjoy living :P

In other words,

The slave was precious to his master because of the money he had cost him… They were worth at least as much as they could be sold for in the market… It is the impossibility of living by any other means that compels our farm labourers to till the soil whose fruits they will not eat and our masons to construct buildings in which they will not live… It is want that compels them to go down on their knees to the rich man in order to get from him permission to enrich him… what effective gain [has] the suppression of slavery brought [him ?] He is free, you say. Ah! That is his misfortune… These men… [have] the most terrible, the most imperious of masters, that is, need. … They must therefore find someone to hire them, or die of hunger. Is that to be free?

Simon Linguet
I am not saying that we should "white knight" for wage workers. What is needed is the creation of new institutions to empower the working class to fight for its own interests, against those of capital. And ultimatly to seize control of the means of production, and carry on production without the state or capitalism.

This has always been anarchism, the anti statist wing of the socialist movement. "Anarcho" capitalism is an oxymoron.

Thanks Sorla for the primativist stuff. Now we have a capitalist a primativist, a communist and a mutualist, its the entire anarchist "movement" on one forum. Now all we're missing is an "anarcho" fascist.

A socialist is by definition not an anarchist, because a socialist requires a government to maintain the state of anarchy.  But once you have a government, you are no longer an anarchy.

Don't get me wrong. I LOVE the IDEA of anarchy. I would love to believe that we can rule ourselves, that we can always make the right choices. But we can't. Because that's not how things work. It sucks that it's true, but people do bad things. And people gravitate towards each other, towards organization. So even if we did have anarchy, it wouldn't last. Just like the good intentions of Marxism don't last. Extremes just don't seem to work.
