I'm 18 and I've been bulimic for the past two years. I'm trying to recover, but i do still purge occassionally. I used to do it everyday, but now maybe once or twice a week. But lately I've been having really bad stomach aches and sore throats. Does anyone know what it could be? Where I can go for help? Thanks!
Purging brings all that acid from your stomach up into your throat. It's possible some damage has been done to the lining of your throat, which is why it is sore. As for the stomach cramps, the change in acid-base balance of the stomach could have set off some changes in how the stomach regulates its acid levels.
There's also a chance that it's unrelalted (that is, there is a completely seperate reason).
A doctor is your best bet.
