She looked at me silently, only to cringe at the anger in my eyes. “You did what?” I said in a tone so low I could barely here myself say it. “I-I j-just accidently pressed the r-wrong button. I-It wasn’t on p-purpose.” Annabelle quivered. “Now, Annabelle, we both had agreed this kind of thing wouldn’t happen again now, did we?” I asked her, my voice getting louder every second that past. She nodded her head, backing up one step at a time. “We both knew what the punishment was. Now didn’t we?” I said. Her face lost all of its color at once; an empty, dull sky. “Uh-huh.” She shuttered.
Dear L. Marie,
Due to the blunder you have made with your last find, we are lowering your rank. You will now be seeking new amateurs and novices for special training. As of your warning, you will abide by all the rules sent to you listed below. If there happens to be any more false accusations, your rank will be lowered again. Continuous actions such as these will be chastised with your rank lowering with each mistake.
My contemplative regards,
S.S. Louise LaPunition
“Great,” I said sarcastically. “This is what I get for signing that agreement with Jack. I never should have trusted him.” My fury boiled and I was getting a headache. The rest of the letter contained the rules and my first departure flight. How long would it take to find the first student fit for the Academy of the Mystic and War arts? My assignment was going to be the first of many spying, tracing, and trials that were not going to be fun. I was 16 years old and still stuck in this building. How much longer would it take until I could start the real field work?
