From the dining hall we went across the entrance hall to the library, which was the usual set of separate rooms each with a different category of book in them. I was going to be spending a ton of my time in here. I was a devoted bookworm. Then we went to the back of the first floor to the nursery which was like a mini-hospital, then downstairs to the underground classrooms.
It was colder and darker down here, the stone walls seemed grayer and more mysterious. The back of the downstairs was where the fifth years slept. The front was devoted to potions and creature classes.
Back upstairs, we then went to the first floor where the glamour and charms classes were. We passed my mom's classroom and I felt familiar with my surroundings. The second floor was for spells and rituals, the third for first years and evil 101 class which was just learning about evil and the "Dark Witches" like how to recognize and defend yourself against them.
The fourth floor was for second years and astronomy classrooms, the fifth for third years and History classes. The sixth floor was study hall, for free periods and meeting the teacher for makeup work and private lessons. The seventh and final floor was for fourth years and sightseeing class which was just a class for us to get glimpses of our immediate future.
Next, was the back fields where teh practice for our Power Classes were. The far right corner had greenhouses where plants and magical herbs class was held. It was chilly in the afternoon air and we all shivered in our jackets. There were tables and sitting areas out here to hang out and do homework and whatnot. There was a pond off to our right and a slightly small lake down the steep hill to our left. The grass was a lush green, the sky a cloudless gray.
"Alright ladies, you have the rest of the weekend to yourselves before classes begin. Explore and learn your way around. We will explaain your schedules tomorrow."
The glamour witches went back to the academy leaving us to roam and do as we pleased. Aly and I strectched out by the pond with our backs against a couple of trees. Aly began her chatter again but I zoned out, closing my eyes and breathing in the cool air, reading everyone's happy and excited aura's. A breeze ruffled my hair and it felt great.
Then I picked up a slightly different aura. Darker, obviously not a witch but weren't only witches supposed to be here? It was a boys about eighteen or nineteen. He wasn't human but I couldn't tell which part of the magical world he belonged to. I opened my eyes and gazed at the wood surrounding the school. My eyes swept the edges then...there! I saw something or rather someone move. He was standing just at the edge of the forest unnoticed by everyone else but me. Even from where I was sitting I could tell he was gorgeous with pale skin and sharp features, dark eyes and black hair that came to his shoulder's. He was wearing dark jeans a long-sleeved gray shirt. Was he supposed to be here?
Then, without warning his eyes snapped to mine, or at least I thought he was looking at me... I couldn't look away from him his aura was so intense it invited me in but at the same time didn't want me to read him...
"Caitlyn? Are you listening?" Aly said. I glanced at her and nodded before looking back at the trees. He was gone. Huh, I wonder what that was about...
