Say You Love Me

The clock ticks angrily, it's loud voice pounding in my head. I stare at the spinning fan as the blades spin round and round.
My head pulls up from the back of the couch as the doorknob clicks open.
You walk in, silently closing the door behind you, afraid that I haven't waited up for you. Your eyes find my face, my body wrapped up in fleece blankets.
"Hey babe," you say, a smile forming, I can see it in your eyes. You weren't with your friends. I knew you weren't, but I never say a thing. I smile, letting you know I'm glad you're home. You smile and stride over to the couch. The peck on my lips is warm.
If only you knew.
I can see it in your eyes.
I know. I knew, but I didn't care. I want you to tell me lies.
My biggest fear is crying oceans of tears. I don't want to know if I've kissed your lips for the time.
I mean, what would you do if you were me? I'd rather leave it a mystery.
Because your truth makes me want you to tell me lies.
Tell Me Lies.
