If I -An Emo Teenager's Thoughts-

If I could become anyone else, I would become someone who has an amazing life. But then their lives would be awful, because they would have to trade theirs with mine. I wish I could win at life for once. I wish I could get what I wanted for once. I wish I could die.

If I could become anyone else, I would become someone who has an amazing life. I would be able to live a life without my parents, without the pressure of having to be perfect, without people complaining about me. And my family would be happy.

If I could become anyone else, I would become a character in a book who only faces problems of school. It would be so much better.

If I could become anyone else, they wouldn’t let me. If I tried I’d be locked in my room, not able to flee.

If I cut myself they would care. If I surrendered to death it would be over.

They wouldn’t need me if I left. They wouldn’t care if I died.

If I surrender to these lies, I will never see the light of God.

If I.

The author's comments:

If I is a realistic fiction article that I wrote based on my feelings during 7th grade.  I thought this story would relate to many of my other friends as well, but their names should stay anonymous.  I happen to be emo and bi, and I feel like I get excluded from many other groups because of that.
