"You must be the change you wish to see in the world." Mahatma Gandhi

My head in and out of the water.

Fight for the gold.
Fight for the gold.

I lay back,
My hands flapping in circles.

Fight for the gold.
Fight for the gold.

Breathe in. Breathe out.
I am now a butterfly.

Fight for the gold.
Fight for the gold.

I leap into the crystalline water,
And twirl like a ballerina.
My head pointing downwards.

Fight for the gold.
Fight for the gold.

I am a Ferrari,
My wheels flying like the wind.

Fight for the gold.
Fight for the gold.

I stare at the finish,
I hear the gunshot.
Everything is still,
Until I hit the water and splash!

Fight for the gold.
Fight for the gold.

I flap my wings,
Like I am migrating to an unknown land with my family.
I have to show them what I’m made of.
I have a lead.
At least I think.

Fight for the gold.
Fight for the gold.

When I touch the cold tiles,
And look at the screen,
I finally notice myself breathing hard.

Gold. Oh the shiny golden wonder!

I stand at the podium,
And kiss my bronze.
I know what I’ll do next time.

Fight for the gold.
Fight for the gold.
