A Family of a General

Henry gets recruited to be in the army. His family takes care of themselves. In a few years, when Henry comes back, he returns as a famous general, and him and his family are rich.

Chapter 1: Getting Recruited

The next day, Mary decided that she would keep a diary to write in about her feelings of sadness. She wrote in it for hour, while the kids were at work. The day after, after had William went to work he asked John about his father but, remembered that they took men over sixteen. Same question with Anne and Joe, but she remembered too. Then Mary decided to get a job, because she knew that William and Anne weren't making enough for the family. She went to a candlestick maker’s house, and asked if they needed any help with making them. They did need help and offered Mary three shillings/ per hour, and she took the offer. She started work the next day and was surprisingly good at making them. The days repeated day-after-day for the next few years.

Chapter 3: A Happy Day

Then on September 3rd, 1783, they heard the news that the war was won by the patriots. Everyone was happy, even if they were loyalists. Mary and the kids were whooping with joy. Then a few days after the generals were bring the surviving soldiers home to their families. Mary expected to see Henry amongst all of the other, husbands, brothers, and fathers, but she didn't. Then as she was looking around, she saw the general. He was walking towards her, she thought that something bad happened to Henry. He was wearing a mask but Mary could tell he was smiling by his eyes. As he lifted up his mask Mary saw Henry’s face and was surprised to hear that he was famous general Henry Knox. She wondered where he got the last name and he said someone started calling me it and it stuck. His kids ran up to him and hugged him. Then he said that they were rich and then they moved to a better living space, and lived there, the rest of their lives.

It is great how teenagers can take care of the adult.
