I have published my first autobiography Narrative of the life of Fredrick Douglass an American slave. As I walk down the street I see multiple people carrying and reading my book. I feel happy but I’m scared because I’m still an escaped slave. I can be returned at any minute. On my way home I found a person that could take me to Europe. I think I should go, to escape the slave hunters. When I arrive in Europe everywhere I turn someone is holding my book. I feel proud.A British supporter has bought my freedom from Hugh Auld, my former master. This might be one of the greatest years of my life, 1846.
