Diary Entry January 01

So, I got this diary for Christmas, and the stupid thing is dated, so I have to start on January 1st if I want to go in order. I don’t understand what the big deal is about New Years. It’s another year to live through, whoot whoot! Ugh, I especially hate New Years resolutions. It’s just so stupid for the following list of reasons:

1.
Who needs a particular time of year to decide to make a change in their lives? I know that if I see a problem, I fix it right away, not procrastinate until New Years…
2.
Who needs a resolution? God, we don’t have to make everything all official. It’s a personal change, so who cares?
3.
It’s a way to pressure your peers into making decisions that they may not be ready to make. What if you are at a party, can’t think of a resolution that you are ready to make, so you make one that you are not?
4.
What’s up with all the toasts? “Oh, I’m going to make some personal change in my life, tell everyone what it is, and then click glasses together like it means something. Oh, and while I’m at it, I have to eat this cabbage to have a good year.”

WHO NEEDS CABBAGE? What about people who are allergic to cabbage and therefore can not eat it? Are they doomed to have bad luck for the rest of their lives simply because they are incapable of consuming cabbage? I hate cabbage, I never eat it, and I still have a pretty descent life. I also never make resolution announcements or toast to a good year, and I still get stuff done. New Years resolutions are for the incompetent.

Well, I used up all the space for today… I will never understand why they would try to limit people’s emotions of a whole day to one page, but whatever.
