The sweet smell of morning hung in the air as she slumped farther back into the cozy chair, looking out at the landscape beyond the train window.
The sun was beginning it’s climb into the wide sky changing the deep black of the night heavens into creamy pastels of orange, yellows and pinks.
As the land dipped down into a vast gorge, the flora seemed to be awakening from its night slumber. The dark, somber trees stood majestic and tall, swaying gently in the eastern breeze.
Out of the forrest a lake emerged, glistening in the daybreak’s sweet light. Both calm and tranquil, there was but one single ripple running through the water’s surface.
As the lake fell out of sight the trees grew in height and variety. The dusky emeralds made way for tall poplars and birches, with velvety white branches that shimmered in the rising sunlight.
The land began to slope upwards and with it, a field of lilacs came into view - a sea of purple within the valley of green. Gentle and innocent, the flowers seemed to sparkle as daylight shined down on them.
