BEGIN ACT ONE

ACTION!!!!!

THE LIGHTS DIM, A SINGLE SPOTLIGHT LOCKS ON A LONE FIGURE, ITS SILHOUETTE CASTS A LOOMING SHADOW ON THE STAGE FLOOR,THE PEOPLE ARE SILIENT AS A HORROR MOVIE NIGHT, IT SPEAKS.
A LIFE…
A PULSE…
A BREATH THAT YOU TAKE…
ALL SIGNS THAT YOU ARE HERE
MOMENTS GO BY
THE SAND IN YOUR HOURGLASS SLOWLY FALLS
EACH GRAIN A PORTION OF A COMPLETED YOU
SEPARATED FROM EACH OTHER
DIFFERENT EMOTIONS
PERIODS OF YEARS…
DAYS…
HOURS…
EVEN DOWN TO THE VERY SECOND
ALL KEPT TOGETHER TO REMIND YOU OF YOURSELF

A LONG PAUSE CAME FROM THE SPEAKER, IT DEEPLY INHALES, DRAWING ATTENTION ON ITS SELF, STARING OUT INTO THE OPEN, THINKING ABOUT WHAT IS TO HAPPEN NEXT

YOUR HOURGLASS
FRAGILE AND UNSTABLE
MADE FROM THIN GLASS
AS IF TIME REDUCED IT TO THAT STATE
THE HOURGLASS SHATTERS
THE GRAINS OF SAND FLUTTER L IKE NEWLY CREATED SNOW
FALLING…
FLYING AROUND
COLLECTING INTO A MOUND AT YOUR FEET
YOU MAKE HASTE
UNSURE THAT YOU GATHERED ALL OF THE FALLEN PIECES
YOU STAND THERE BROKEN
LIKE YOUR HOURGLASS

END OF ACT ONE

BEGIN ACT TWO

ACTION!!!!!

THE SAME FIGURE REAPPEARS, THE EXPRESSION ON ITS FACE DARKENS, EVEN WHEN IN FULL LIGHT, THE SAND IN A PILE, UNTOUCHED, ITS VOICE CRACKS, PEOPLE SHIFTING IN THEIR SEATS. IT BEGINS

A SOLITARY PIECE OF SAND APPILES TO YOU
REVIELING A BITTERSWEET MEMORY
YOU TAKE IT AND SEE
WHAT THAT SECOND DID
THAT EXCEEDING SECOND THAT TORE YOU APART
BROKE YOU DOWN
JUST LIKE YOUR HOURGLASS
ESSENTIALLY YOU GO BACK TO THE HOURGLASS
REPLACING THE GRAIN OF SAND
THAT HOLDS A SOLE REMINISCENCE

IT BREAKS OFF LEAVING THE PEOPLE HANGING, AFTER CAREFUL CONSIDERATION IT PICKS UP AGAIN.

LINGERING IN THE PAST IS NOT GOOD FOR ONE’S LIFE
STAYING BACK THERE WILL JUST HURT
IT HURTS MORE THAN…
REOPENING OLD WOUNDS
ONE MUST MOVE ON
GO TO THE FUTURE
WHERE YOUR HOURGLASS IS RESTORED
TO ITS FORMER BRILLIANCE

THE STAGE LIGHTS SET, THE FIGURE UNAWARE OF THE ALTERANTING SURROUNDINGS, THE CURTIAN DROPS CASCADING RIPPLES ON THE STAGE, THE FIGURE IS NOW CONCEALED FROM VIEW, EVEN THOUGH IT’S HIDDEN, THE FIGURE’S PRESENCE CAN STILL BE FELT

END OF ACT TWO
