I had just set out on a cruise to the Caribbean. This was my break from my tedious work, a chance to finally relax. The trip started out fine. I sipped at my drinks, relaxed in the lounges, swam in the pools. Until that one day. The captain had announced over the speaker that the ship had a minor leak, and that there was nothing to worry about. Nobody seemed to care about the announcement. They continued to sip at their drinks, relax in their lounges, swim in their pools. Until the water came. People continued to do their things.  At first, it was small. Barely noticeable. But I knew better.  This was no minor leak.  I grabbed a few of my essential belongings, taking only a backpack full of supplies.
Right after I ran on deck to the lifeboats, I heard another boom, and the water level rose. It came to the people’s ankles, then to their waists. That's when the people started panicking. That's when I started surviving.
