After becoming fascinated with Daisy I continued the story behind her. “Ivy” is the continuation of Daisy. This character Ivy has a lot of inspirations and similarities from the short story "Rappaccini's Daughter" written by Nathaniel Hawthorne. After living on the island for many years Daisy's body has adapted to the environment and has learned to cope with the surroundings. Ivy is very different from Daisy; she is sure of herself and knows what she wants. In this prominent stage in her life she is becoming more aware of sexuality. The mannerism of her character starts to change as well, her understanding that the imbalance cycle in her past human life with Andrew was unhealthy consciously made her aware of herself as being an object of sexual desire.« read less
