This is a tin soldier, a French Hussar, that I acquired for 50 rubles (about 2 dollars) in the market, for so cheap a price because of the broken sword. The little guy looked so dashing and courageous in the midst of my other things, that shrunk him even more (if that's possible), that I thought I'd give him his moment, suspended between focused and unfocused, in a seashell.
