Rescue me

From ends shallow or deep

That I may balance with no malice on steady middle-ground;

That I may at times tolerate the profound and confining walls of sustenance on a bronze platter:

no knots to be unbound,

no sympathy for the matter.

For you and I know well

we all hold the capacity to drown

in a gargling protest, we the monsters that dwell

and in our hearts, the power of the thorned crowns

weigh us down to the rotten depth of equilibrium.
