alice walker
This painting I made represents her story “every day use”. The theme of the story is to appreciate your culture. In the painting I have painted some African pots I have also included an African design in the background. A big part of the stories’ imagery was the butter turn that’s why I made it a little bigger than the other items. I also painted Alice walker because she is the author. The African designs are blue and yellow, the blue represents the sadness in her life as a child and the yellow represents the happiness in her life as she gets older. The dress Alice walker is wearing is wangeros dress from “everyday use”.
