Swept across the Serengeti
into the depths of a barrenland,
the blaze and fire of the sun
brings color to white clouds
andleaves the empty land to burn.
Ripples of golden brown dunes
upon my sorefeet
Powerful sun upon my back
Scorched earth beyond everyridge
following an endless and fiery track.
Harsh lands barelyexplored
prints in the sand of travelers past
to have courage andstrength
to survive the harsh desert,
without fear, without thirst
Ihave journeyed through the lands
that life cannot inhabit.
The dunes oftime have endured
so much before my travel,
I must trudge onward toward thelight
toward the blazing flames of the future
that await me, beyond hopeand desire
somewhere near in times to come.
