Teen Ink Blogs

By Jennifer O., Westwood, MA

He remembers the castles she built in the sand,

How they'd go for an ice cream, him holding her hand.

He remembers the times past her bedtime,

The glasses of water, the nursery rhymes.

He remembers the puppy she wanted so much,

All the peanut butter sandwiches she wanted for lunch.

He remembers her chubby face shining with happiness,

As she tried on her mothers's wedding dress.

He remembers her yesterday,

Dressed in that same dress, her face aglow.

He remembers how he gave her away,

And realizes he must let go.
