By Shoshana B., Belmont, MA

As I walk down the street,

I feel like they are allstaring.

Maybe it is my feet,

Or what I am wearing.

Is itmy face, my eyes or my hair?

I do not think it is anything,

Theyjust like to stare.

I am just the same as everybody else,

Although I don't want to be.

I want to be special, unique, one ofa kind

The one and only me,

Maybe I am unique, and don't knowit.

Is it all in my mind?

Or am I really one of akind?

Could it be that they wish they were me?

Do I havesomething they don't have?

Do some people think I am weird?

It'snot like I have a long, hariy beard.

My hair is long andstraight,

And I'm not really overweight.

I hate to wonderwhat people are thinking.

I hope that they are thinking good things aboutme.

I try to remember that I'm okay,

And that it doesn't matterwhat people say.
