The Victim

By RACHEL G., Wellesley, MA

Water trickling in the stream,

Slowly covering up her scream.

The birds are singing a melody,

Pretending all is in harmony.

Flowers grow around her grave

She is forever nature's slave

Her memorial service is performed by the earth

By the wind and the sky

That's all the good-bye

she'll receive.

None will miss her for that long,

Or none will know that she is gone.

None will care about the victim,

Who died in the woods near the stream.
