By Caroline R., Milton, MA

Her face is tilted to the falling snow,
Crystals on her lashes.
Her armsand legs are spread apart,
She's sleeping like an angel.

And I wonderhow it must have felt,
To look up to her death,
A maze of flakes and topsof trees,
They're coming down for you.

Just the earth, and her,
Thatdense nothing of a winter night.
She offered,
Gave herself back...

Lulled to slumber by the elements,
Returning to mother'swomb.
