By Anita S., Phoenix, AZ

Stroll beside a whispering stream,
Shallow waves secretly pocket the stars' brilliance ...
Within every dancing ripple it greedily snickers.
Envy looms about its immortal diamonds.

Dive among the mystical shadows,
And sweep shades of gray under rugs of oblivion,
Recovering a secret wonderland ...
Hidden from the mentally confined.

Technicolor sea gulls whisk across my evanescent screen,
Penetrating a skyline of insane capacity,
Flying beyond a dimension unknown ...
Their demise a monstrous reality device ...

A radiant street light, like a Broadway spotlight, beams,
Flirt with its flickering flare upon a humble street bench.
Taking note, a stage of endless sidewalk,
Spanning into a conquerable unknown.

Hop along the Yellow Brick Road,
And tiptoe among the snoozing blades of grass.
Leaving time, all must sleep.
Give privacy to a whimsical scene,

The park kissing midnight.
