By Megan D., Florence, SC

I look for your smile
To reassure me
My fears are all wrong
Once upon a time
I could look into your bright blues
Your radiant glow
Forever emitting wisdom
A coward now
I cannot look at you
Your blue has become pale
Faded, now
Your glow is leaving
And I am the only human watching
You were my guardian angel
Now I am yours
But you will never know
I will forever remember you
Even after I forget.
