Teen Ink Blogs

By Ryan C., Mount Prospect, IL

His name is Paul,
But everyone knows him as Charles.
Why the change?
No one knows.
His hair pours from his head
Like buttered pasta.
He wears a renaissance costume
Every week or so.
He ignores the stares,
Embraces all the questions
That strangers toss his way.
I like it,
He says with a smile
He sharpens his pencils by hand,
Shaves down the sides
With the blades of his scissors.
His keychain dangles from his pocket and
Jingles at his knees.
He goes about his day
In his own world.
Peaceful and Content,
He rides home in the cold October air
Smiling as he pedals.
