By Genevieve M., Roslindale, MA

   Having a beautiful brown-eyed boy

Tell you he loves you

In Spanish

In the back seat of a gray car

With a red interior

And his uncle driving

And your best friend, his cousin

Grooving to the new U2 tape

Oblivious in the front seat.

Hurry, faster, time is rapidly shortening

Use it wisely, fool

Four days, and Puerto Rico

Place of interminably waving waters

Snowless - screaming with sunlight

Steals him back.

But for now

It must wait.

We slide through the soundless midnight streets

Dotted with colored stars of Christmas lights

Wrapped in the protective shell of Bono's voice

Life is unusually kind today.
